Thousands of accounts describe mysterious lights in the sky, with some even detailing close encounters with what appear to be interstellar vehicles. However, reports of these crafts crashing and being retrieved by governments are far rarer—and even more skeptically received.
Despite skepticism, numerous claims suggest that alien spacecraft, advanced technology, and even deceased extraterrestrial beings have fallen into the hands of a select few within the highest and most secretive levels of global governments. Below are ten such claims; interpret them as you see fit.
10. The Paradise Valley IncidentArizona, 1947

The credibility of the Paradise Valley incident is often questioned, largely due to its primary source being UFO author Frank Scully, whose informants were viewed as unreliable by some. However, others, like prominent UFO researcher Timothy Good, argue that Scully was a sincere investigator who was sometimes deliberately misled. Good claimed to have met a witness to the event, Selman E. Graves, forty years after it occurred.
Graves recounted that in October 1947, he and a group of friends arrived at Walt Sayler’s home for a planned hunting trip. Sayler informed them that their intended hunting grounds were now a restricted zone due to unspecified military operations. Intrigued, Graves and two others decided to explore nearby mines before regrouping with Sayler and the rest of the party. From the mines, which overlooked the restricted area, Graves observed significant military presence, including numerous soldiers gathered around a massive, aluminum dome resembling an observatory roof.
Years later, after reading Scully’s account, Graves concluded that the “observatory dome” was actually a crashed UFO. Scully claimed that a civilian with military ties had reported the craft to authorities, and Graves believed this person was Walt Sayler, a military veteran. Adding to the mystery, local lore suggests the crash site is now the Dreamy Draw Dam recreation area, with the massive craft allegedly buried there after the military failed to move it discreetly.
9. UFO Crash Near Kingman AirportArizona, 1953

On the night of May 21, 1953, approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles) northeast of Kingman Airport in Arizona, an unidentified object reportedly crashed. The military swiftly cordoned off the area and retrieved the debris, transporting it to either the notorious Area 51 in Nevada or Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, depending on the source. Around 40 scientists from various disciplines were discreetly assembled, made to sign confidentiality agreements, and then taken—reportedly in a windowless bus—to the location where the craft and its crew were being held for examination.
Preston Dennett, a noted researcher and author, recounts that scientist Arthur Stancil informed him their studies revealed the craft impacted the earth at 1,200 miles per hour yet remained remarkably intact, clearly not of human origin. Stancil depicted the object as having a tear-drop shape, resembling a sleek, streamlined cigar. Additionally, Leonard Stringfield, another scientist in conversation with Dennett, reported seeing inside the crashed vessel, observing the remains of a four-foot tall, humanoid figure clad in a silver metallic suit.
The military managed to conceal the incident effectively until Frank Scully's revelations prompted credible witnesses to emerge, sharing their accounts with other UFO investigators.
8. The Kalahari Incident - South Africa, 1989

Quest International reported in the early 1990s that an unidentified aircraft breached South African airspace on May 7, 1989, and was subsequently downed by Mirage fighter jets, crashing in the Kalahari Desert near Botswana. The South African forces swiftly secured the site, observing disruptions in their electronic devices during the operation. After recovering the UFO, the crash site, where extreme heat had fused sand and rock, was camouflaged with new sand and soil to erase traces of the event.
Leaked documents suggest that upon forcing open a hatch on the craft's sleek, silver exterior, the recovery team found two alien beings alive inside. These entities, dressed in snug one-piece outfits, had disproportionately large heads compared to their slender frames, standing approximately 122 to 152 centimeters tall.
Tony Dodd, a prominent UFO researcher, revealed that the United States allegedly exchanged nuclear technology with the South African government—an act prohibited by international law—in exchange for the damaged spacecraft and its two extraterrestrial occupants. Dodd’s confidential informant also disclosed that a third alien entity was secretly retained by the South African authorities, unbeknownst to the Americans. This being was reportedly transported to Camp 13, a highly classified facility located near the Kalahari Desert.
7. Desert Recovery of an ‘Empty’ Craft - Utah, 1958

Among the numerous government documents released through the Sirius Disclosure Project was a report detailing the recovery of a crashed UFO in an unspecified area of Utah’s desert in 1958. A military team successfully retrieved the craft, which was promptly identified as being of extraterrestrial origin.
This claim raises significant questions, as the files indicate no alien bodies were discovered at the site. How, then, did the military conclude the craft was extraterrestrial? Did they possess prior knowledge of such phenomena? Could the UFO have been an unmanned drone? If the craft was piloted, where did its occupants go? Were they potentially lost in the vast Utah desert?
The files described the craft as a “technological marvel,” examined by leading aerospace experts. Despite their efforts, fully comprehending the alien technology remained elusive. However, the recovery yielded a significant amount of advanced technological data. The nature of this data and its potential applications remain speculative.
6. The Berwyn Mountain Incident - Wales, 1974

While the official explanation pointed to an earthquake and a meteorite, the event was later linked to a UFO encounter after government UFO records were declassified nearly four decades later. Extensive research by UFO experts, combined with the released files, has provided a more comprehensive understanding of the incident.
On the evening of January 23, 1974, a massive explosion was heard from the Berwyn Mountains in Wales around 8:30 PM. The blast measured on the Richter Scale, with the British Geological Survey attributing it to a probable earthquake. However, many locals remained skeptical of this explanation.
Margaret Fry, a renowned UFO researcher, was actively involved in investigating the incident as it happened. She interviewed numerous residents, most of whom described a loud explosion that caused the ground to tremble. Few believed the earthquake theory. Pat Evans, a nurse driving near the site that night, reported seeing a pulsating orange light on the hillside and exclaimed, 'It had to be some kind of UFO!'
Fry also recounted conversations with local hotel and bar managers in the days after the event. One hotel manager mentioned an unusual increase in American military presence in the area and noted that the nearby woodlands were completely cordoned off.
In his book Alien Investigator, Tony Dodd shared a discussion with a whistle-blower who alleged transporting 'live alien beings' in high-tech chemical containers to Porton Down. This facility is often speculated by UFO enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists to house extraterrestrial entities.
5. The Aztec Crash - New Mexico, 1948

The alleged UFO crash in Aztec, New Mexico, on March 25, 1948, was dismissed as a hoax for years, even within UFO circles. The story, linked to the controversial Frank Scully, describes a damaged craft retrieved by the US military and relocated across multiple bases over two weeks. The most contentious claim is the discovery and removal of up to 16 alien corpses from the site.
Over the years, multiple researchers have investigated the incident. In 2015, Scott and Suzanne Ramsey, along with Dr. Frank Thayer, published The Aztec UFO Incident, presenting newly declassified documents and testimonies from witnesses who were allegedly forced to sign secrecy agreements about their experiences.
4. Strange Creature Found in Gdynia - (Soviet) Poland, 1959

In early 1959, during the Cold War in Soviet-controlled Poland, multiple witnesses observed a mysterious 'radiant object' descending from the sky and disappearing into the dark waters of a harbor.
Reports were filed, and while the Polish Navy recovered a piece of debris for analysis, no further evidence was found. The harbor area was placed under military surveillance. Days later, a 'strange silhouette' was seen emerging from the water, collapsing onto the sand in a weakened state.
The figure, described as a man, spoke no recognizable language and had severe facial burns. He wore a peculiar uniform that doctors at a local hospital could not remove due to the absence of zippers or fasteners. The material, though thin and soft, was as durable as metal.
Details about his demise and extraterrestrial origins vary, but it is believed he died shortly after being found. If the account is accurate, his remains are rumored to be stored in a secret underground bunker beneath Moscow.
3. The Varginha Incident - Brazil, 1996

On January 20, 1996, just after midnight, authorities in Varginha, Brazil, received reports of a glowing object crashing to the ground. Unbeknownst to locals, the Brazilian military had also detected a UFO entering their airspace at the same time.
While the crash itself was strange, even more peculiar were the accounts of a 'strange creature' sighted in the area. Initially dismissed as a prank, officials were reportedly shocked when they encountered the disoriented, otherworldly being firsthand.
The creature was swiftly captured and later handed over to the Brazilian military. Despite rumors of studies and autopsies, those allegedly involved deny any participation. Over time, the incident has been widely labeled as a hoax.
2. Battle Between UFOs - Russia, 1989

During the Cold War, numerous UFO sightings occurred behind the Iron Curtain, though many were only reported after the Berlin Wall fell, often years later. The Soviet regime often dismissed such events as propaganda from the 'evil United States,' leading to widespread disinformation. However, an incident on September 16, 1989, remains too compelling for UFO enthusiasts to overlook.
On that evening, an otherworldly craft reportedly fell to Earth after a fierce 'alien battle.' Over Zaostrovka port on the River Kama, several silver disc-shaped UFOs attacked a darker craft, firing beams of light that forced it to crash in a military training area. Witnesses claimed the battle caused a complete power outage in the region.
The crashed UFO remained in the swampy crash site until late November, when freezing temperatures allowed Soviet troops to investigate. The four soldiers sent to examine the craft reportedly fell severely ill, suspected to have radiation sickness, prompting the area to be sealed off indefinitely.
1. Laredo Crash - Texas, 1948

As detailed in Noe Torres' book Fallen Angel—UFO Crash Near Laredo, Texas, two armed US military aircraft pursued a large silver disc-shaped object of unknown origin on July 7, 1948. Witnesses reported seeing the craft crash near Laredo, Texas.
The military quickly secured the area, dispatching a specialized retrieval team to recover the damaged spacecraft for confidential examination. According to Torres, the UFO was transported to a covert military facility in San Antonio. Adding to the intrigue, the remains of a 'severely burned non-human entity' were also reportedly seized by US military personnel.
While whispers of the encounter circulated within the UFO community and among Laredo locals, it wasn’t until the late 1970s that the story gained widespread attention. As UFOs and aliens surged in pop culture, various UFO publications highlighted the incident, prompting alleged whistle-blowers to come forward and corroborate the event.
