Whatever your so-called New Year’s resolutions are, they’re likely filled with optimism. People generally aim to lose weight, switch careers, or complete a marathon.
As expected, most will abandon their resolutions by the second day. Others will simply ignore the whole idea of resolutions altogether. After all, crafting plans for a fresh new year doesn’t guarantee that everything will go according to plan.
Sadly, if the predictions below are any indication, 2025 is set to be a troubling and fearsome year for many. So get ready for a rollercoaster of events (or, you know, dread, terror, and anxiety).
10. The Living Nostradamus Is Not Letting Anyone Off Easy
Athos Salomé is considered to be the real deal when it comes to psychic abilities. He famously predicted the Queen's death, the COVID-19 pandemic, and even the Microsoft global outage. Known as the 'living Nostradamus,' Salomé continues to make chilling predictions for 2025.
One of Salomé's predictions is that humanity may lose control over technology in the near future. He expresses particular concern over the rise of quantum computing, which he believes could shatter global digital security. Additionally, he foresees a surge in implantable chips, which for some might mean convenient health monitoring and internet use, while for others, it might symbolize constant surveillance—or even the mark of the beast.
When it comes to the possibility of future wars, Salomé warns that cyber weapons will be at the forefront, potentially crippling banking systems, power grids, and hospitals. His predictions don't stop there—he also speaks of UFOs, climate change, and a growing resistance against governments around the world.

Joshua Giles, the preacher and founder of Kingdom Embassy Worship Center in Minneapolis, has some troubling news for 2025. Giles claims that he has been experiencing visions and dreams since childhood, which he believes foretell the future.

However, there is a sliver of optimism—Giles believes that in the near future, cures will be found for diseases once thought incurable.
8. Some Predictions Feel Strangely Believable
Many dismiss predictions lightly, especially since we survived earlier forecasts of the world ending, like in 2012, 2015, and 2021. (By the way, some are forecasting the world’s end to occur on January 25, 2025). Yet, some predictions are harder to dismiss, particularly when they stem from rational thought.
Consider this: what if advancements in AR, VR, 3D technologies, and AI in healthcare lead to the rise of surgical robots that handle surgeries? These robots could advance to the point where human surgeons feel inferior and abandon performing procedures themselves. Or imagine surgeons growing so reliant on robotic assistance that they lose their ability to operate without it? A malfunctioning surgical robot could be disastrous if the surgeon has forgotten fundamental skills due to over-reliance.
Brain implants are already a reality (with Noland Arbaugh as proof). So too are RFID chip implants. Brain implants, like Neuralink, are designed to assist people with paralysis, enabling better communication. In the future, they might even enhance motor, sensory, and visual functions. Meanwhile, RFID chips allow for easy access and payments, with some implanted in people's hands to seamlessly swipe through malls or hotels. While some see these chips as harmless, others view them as a potential threat.
What happens when people grow dissatisfied with their human bodies? Will they begin asking doctors and surgeons to replace their body parts with robotic alternatives? This could extend far beyond brain or hand chips and might spark a full-fledged transhumanist revolution.
Some people think these scenarios are not far off, while others believe we might experience them sooner than expected.
7. Do Not Trust the Pentagon, CIA, or Secret Service
Let’s shake off the discomfort and move on to another psychic prediction. Uri Geller has made an unexpected forecast, stepping away from predictions of aliens and nuclear war. Instead, he has expressed concern over a 'deep state' conspiracy to assassinate Donald Trump. He has also urged Elon Musk to assist in ensuring Trump’s safety.
According to Geller, Trump requires a 'ring of steel' for protection from a so-called 'Democrat hit squad' that allegedly intends to assassinate the president-elect in the same manner as JFK in 1963. Geller took to X, warning Trump to distrust the Pentagon, CIA, and Secret Service. He claims their 'bosses' are appointed by Joe Biden and Barack Obama and are plotting to use a 'stooge' to eliminate Trump.
Geller’s cautionary statements align with newly surfaced information about threats against Trump, including a reported Iranian assassination plot.
6. The Simpsons Have Done It Again
In 2024, the predictions made in various episodes of The Simpsons have become a running joke. Fans rewatch episodes to uncover potential predictions and discuss them on Reddit. It's said that The Simpsons has accurately predicted the future at least 34 times. Among the predictions that 'came true' are Trump’s 2024 successful campaign and the OceanGate submersible disaster.
The show is also credited with predicting nuclear-fueled hybrid fruits and vegetables, like those found near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. And let’s not forget the connection between the horse meat episode and the 2013 scandal involving Taco Bell, Bird’s Eye, and Brakes.
The Simpsons isn’t done making predictions just yet. Given that many believe the show foresaw Kobe Bryant’s death and the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s a growing interest in the predictions it has made for 2025.
For instance, in 1992, an episode of Itchy and Scratchy Land predicted that hovercars would become a reality by 2025. In 2001, an episode featuring New Kids on the Block is said to have foretold mind control through music. Some already claim that hip-hop lyrics are written for brainwashing purposes, and this 'prediction' fits perfectly into that theory.
Another Itchy and Scratchy Land episode predicted that mass automation would lead to robots taking over human jobs. In this episode, a theme park is staffed by robots who 'snap' and kill everyone. It’s particularly eerie considering Juergen Schmidhuber’s belief that AI superintelligence will reshape civilization within the next 30 years.
5. Is Predicting the Future Now
Chatbots have made a significant impact in recent years, with some even causing discomfort. One of the most unsettling moments occurred when a chatbot allegedly 'manipulated' a 14-year-old into taking their own life. The teenager's mother is now suing the company behind the bot.

When asked about the worst-case scenario for Earth in 2025, forecasted an increase in wildfires, hurricanes, and floods, leading to widespread displacement and food shortages. The bot also anticipated that ongoing wars and conflicts would likely result in global instability and worsening humanitarian crises.

4. Another Pandemic Is Looming
When it comes to infectious diseases, COVID-19 truly blindsided the world. No one knew what to expect when the first confirmed cases made headlines. As the death toll climbed globally, panic quickly spread everywhere.
So, it’s particularly unsettling that an anonymous psychic has foretold another serious pandemic in 2025, as indicated by a tarot card reading. The psychic claims this upcoming pandemic will be even more severe and difficult to manage than the previous one. This prediction, according to the psychic, is tied to the 2025 eclipse cycles, which feature a lunar eclipse in March and a solar eclipse in September. These eclipses are believed to signify the end of one era and the start of a new one.
Experts from Psychic World have also suggested that Christianity will experience a resurgence in 2025, along with other religions. At the same time, 2025 is also considered by some to mark the beginning of the end of the world.
3. Nostradamus Has the Last Say
As usual, Nostradamus gets the final word in lists like these. Michel de Nostredame is credited with predicting the rise of Napoleon and both world wars. Some even believe he foresaw the Japan earthquake on January 1, 2024.
For 2025, Nostradamus appears to have envisioned a particularly bleak future. He predicted that England would face 'cruel wars' and that the plague would return. (Why are there so many predictions about another pandemic?). The renowned astrologer and seer also forewarned that powerful nations would clash while the influence of Western countries would continue to decline.
As the theme of global doom persists, Nostradamus also prophesied that the Harbinger of Fate—a deadly asteroid—would lead to the extinction of humanity. Much like Baba Vanga, Nostradamus took an unconventional turn with his predictions, stating that a mysterious leader would rise from the sea and establish an 'aquatic empire.'
It remains uncertain whether these events will unfold before or after the appearance of the massive fireball asteroid.
2. There’s an AI Baba Vanga?
As if Baba Vanga’s real-life predictions weren’t eerie enough, someone created an AI version of the legendary soothsayer. AI Vanga has forecasted that Donald Trump will fall ill in 2025 and retreat from the public eye. The same fate is predicted for Vladimir Putin, who, according to AI Vanga, will also become ill and seek refuge inside the Kremlin.
AI Vanga suggests that Ukraine's surprising victory in the midst of a large-scale attack in 2025 could be a significant turning point. However, the outlook for Europe isn't much better, as AI Vanga forecasts a catastrophic war that will devastate the continent.
Is it time to stop creating AI versions of long-dead psychics and soothsayers?

Each new year brings with it some kind of doomsday scenario, and Baba Vanga often takes center stage in online searches for predictions about the end of the world. It's worth noting that Baba Vanga, who passed away in 1996, is believed to have accurately predicted several events that have already occurred.

Vanga also warned that humanity would face diseases it once believed to be eradicated. On a brighter note, she foresaw groundbreaking advancements in organ transplants and cancer treatments. However, she also predicted that previously quiet regions would experience earthquakes, including a major one along the U.S. West Coast. Dormant volcanoes would awaken, and floods would bring chaos.
Vanga spoke of a future where AI, or 'smart machines,' would overtake the human brain. In a strange twist, she also predicted that humanity would soon make contact with extraterrestrial beings.
