To make a lasting difference, it’s crucial to back, empower, and fund LGBTQ initiatives. Here are 10 impactful organizations worth supporting this June and throughout the year.
1. The Trevor Project
Facing stigma and prejudice, LGBTQ individuals often encounter higher rates of depression and suicidal thoughts. The Trevor Project works tirelessly to combat these challenges by offering crisis support, educational resources, counseling, and mental health services tailored to LGBTQ youth.
2. The Point Foundation
The Point Foundation empowers LGBTQ students through college scholarships and academic resources. During the 2021/2022 academic year, the organization awarded financial aid and additional benefits to over 400 students.
3. The Ali Forney Center
Founded in memory of Ali Forney, who faced homelessness and was tragically murdered in 2002, the Ali Forney Center works to protect LGBTQ+ individuals from similar hardships.
