Dr. Phil once hosted a highly controversial guest on his show. Khalood, the mother-in-law, captivated the nation with her blunt remarks, even admitting she calls her son-in-law “Dumbass.” She accused Steve, her son-in-law, of turning her daughter lazy and disrespectful, just like him.
During the interview, she shared several shocking examples of her boundary-crossing behavior. She admitted to spiking her son-in-law’s hot chocolate during the holidays, finding amusement in his discomfort. She also revealed she made duplicate keys to the couple’s home and would let herself in unannounced if they ignored her calls or texts.

During a heated argument over the money box—hidden by the bride’s friends from her MIL—the mother-in-law escalated the situation, hurling insults and fabricating outrageous accusations in front of everyone.
After enduring a relentless ten-minute verbal attack, the bride chose to walk out of her own wedding. Her husband stood by silently, failing to defend his new wife or even ask his mother to stop.
His justification? She’s his mother, after all.
Unsurprisingly, feeling unsupported by her husband, he is now her ex-husband, and she no longer has to endure the toxic and vicious behavior of his mother.

She crossed every imaginable boundary, even invading their bedroom and rearranging their most private belongings. What’s more, she showed no shame when confronted, despite it being her son’s personal space.
Her response? “If you plan to have kids, you’ll need to be more organized. At least I know your bedroom life is healthy.”
All I can say about this mother-in-law is…yuck!

The daughter-in-law in this story used her hair as a way to manage her mental health. During tough times in her youth, she would experiment with her hair to regain a sense of control and focus. Over time, her mental health improved significantly, and she grew her hair to waist length as a testament to her progress.

This is, without a doubt, some of the most appalling behavior I’ve ever encountered from an adult, especially a mother-in-law. The couple, high school sweethearts, went to college together, got married, and started a family. Despite what many would consider an ideal relationship, the mother-in-law harbored constant resentment toward her son’s wife.
When their baby was born, her anger and disdain for her daughter-in-law only intensified.
She attempted to barge into the delivery room, insisting it was her right to witness her grandchild’s birth, but was escorted out by hospital staff. After the baby girl was born, she asked to hold her, and the couple agreed. Shockingly, she spat in the baby’s face, claiming she would grow up just like her mother. The couple immediately took the baby back and severed all ties with her.
2. The Baby Snatcher
The story starts familiarly: an overbearing, controlling mother-in-law. But for these new parents, the situation escalated into a nightmare.
The wife had recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl who struggled with sleep. The mother-in-law decided to lecture the new mom on everything she was doing wrong, insisting the baby would sleep better at her house. Despite the new mother’s repeated refusals—citing the baby’s young age and breastfeeding needs—the MIL wouldn’t relent.
One night, the new mother woke in a panic after hours of silence from the baby’s room. Rushing in, she found the crib empty. Her screams woke her husband, and they frantically searched the house. Moments later, she checked her phone and discovered a photo from her mother-in-law: a selfie with the sleeping baby. Without warning, the MIL had used a spare key to take the baby while they slept, convinced she could get the baby to sleep through the night.
The MIL not only caused immense stress and trauma but also had the audacity to dismiss the new mother’s reaction as hormonal overreaction when confronted.
