Among all the biblical tales and myths from ancient civilizations, the story of the Flood remains one of the most famous. For many, these accounts are viewed merely as myths passed down through the ages, with no more substance than fictional stories.
However, for some time now, certain researchers have proposed that the Flood was not just a legend, but a significant historical event. Initially, the only evidence presented was the fact that similar stories about the Flood were found across various ancient cultures worldwide.
As the world continues to shrink due to advancements in travel, technology, and the rise of the Internet, additional discoveries are emerging that suggest the Flood may indeed have been a real event!
10. The Existence of Chevrons Far Above Sea Level

One of the most reliable indicators of ancient flooding is the presence of chevrons, wedge-like formations found on the seafloor. Such formations are typically left behind after major water events, like tsunamis.
Interestingly, chevrons have also been found above sea level, hinting that large-scale flooding took place at some point long ago.
In 2004, chevrons located at higher elevations were discovered in Madagascar's mountainous regions. Environmental archaeologist Bruce Masse conducted extensive studies in the area. He believes that this region provides evidence of massive flooding linked to an impact crater beneath the Indian Ocean, likely created by a large comet collision with Earth.
Masse argues that this impact triggered enormous tidal waves and catastrophic flooding. His findings also coincide with the timing of other studies and ancient accounts of the Flood.
9. David Allen Deal’s ‘Discovery of Noah’s Ark!’

Across from Mount Ararat in present-day Turkey (where ancient scriptures suggest the Ark came to rest), David Allen Deal claims to have found the remnants of what could be Noah’s Ark. His findings made headlines in the late 1990s as various media outlets covered the story—each with their own perspective and level of seriousness.
The dimensions of the supposed “remains” closely align with those described in ancient texts, and the area is locally referred to as Naxuan (“Noah’s Zion”). The site was first discovered in the late 1940s when an unusual outline appeared in the land after an earthquake.
In 1960, Life magazine featured photographs of the site. However, it wasn’t until Deal spent over a decade conducting research that he asserted in his book, The Day Behemoth And Leviathan Died, that the location was indeed where Noah’s Ark came to rest.
8. Ancient Texts Sharing the Same Tale

Almost every civilization carries a legend of a catastrophic flood from “ancient times.” Strikingly, these accounts share many details, even though these cultures had no known contact with one another.
While most are familiar with the story of Noah and the Ark, we will soon delve into the Epic of Gilgamesh and the ancient Sumerian flood narratives. But there are numerous other similar accounts across cultures.
In Greek mythology, Zeus would unleash a “flood” to wipe out his enemies. In one such myth, upon hearing of Zeus’s intentions, Prometheus advises his son, Deucalion, to “build a chest.” Deucalion did so and survived while “all other men perished!”
Roman mythology tells of the god Jupiter, who, with Neptune’s assistance, floods the Earth to cleanse it of humanity’s “evil ways!” In this tale, Deucalion and his wife, Pyrrha, survive by sailing on a massive boat that eventually lands on the peak of Mount Parnassus, where Jupiter shows mercy upon them.
In ancient Egyptian lore, Atum sends a flood to punish the “rebellious people.” However, he remains on Earth—curiously in the form of a serpent.
Could the near-identical nature of these legends, with only slight variations in names and details, suggest that they are not mere myths but rather historical accounts?
7. The Significance of Gobekli Tepe

Though it remains a speculative theory, some believe that the ancient site of Gobekli Tepe was one of the first places established after the Flood. The presence of advanced structures and knowledge of irrigation and farming is evident here, along with strange stones inscribed with images of animals.
From an ancient astronaut perspective, if we assume that those who built the Ark used advanced technology, could Gobekli Tepe have been the location where “Noah” began or helped life spread far and wide once again?
Interestingly, the site is believed to have been built around 10,000 BC, with some margin of error. There is also evidence of altars where animal remains were found, suggesting that they were sacrificed. This correlates with many Biblical stories and ancient texts that mention Noah performing such rituals after leaving the Ark.
Though the land is currently under Turkish control, it was once inhabited by the Armenian people. Many Armenians claim that their cultural heritage traces directly back to Gobekli Tepe and, by extension, to Noah himself.
6. Numerous Underwater Cities Being Uncovered

Numerous underwater cities (or their remains) have been found across the globe. Many of these discoveries also appear to coincide with the significant date of 10,000 BC in relation to their submergence age.
One example of these submerged ruins is located off the coast of Okinawa. In 1986, the remains of enormous steps and pyramids were uncovered. What made this discovery even more fascinating were the ancient tales of an underwater city, said to be located precisely where the ruins were found. The remains were identified as those of a “highly advanced civilization.”
Off the coast of India, a 2002 discovery spans miles underwater, with initial sonar research indicating the city was submerged during the last Ice Age.
Could these underwater cities be the result of changes in sea and land levels after the Flood? Interestingly, many of these sunken cities are vast in scale, suggesting that their builders were incredibly advanced.
5. The Importance of the Sumerian King List

The discovery of the ancient Sumerian ruins and their numerous artifacts revealed a fascinating item known as the Sumerian King List. This is essentially a record of the kings who have ruled over Sumer from the dawn of time.
What makes this list particularly intriguing are the rulers who are said to have reigned before the Flood, which most researchers date to around 12,000 years ago. These kings are noted to have ruled for centuries, implying they lived far longer than modern humans. After the Flood, the duration of reigns dropped to more typical human lifespans, with most rulers reigning between 10 and 40 years.
Why were the apparent lifespans of kings before the Flood so much longer than those following it, which resemble the lifespan of modern humans? And why does the timing of the Flood appear to coincide with such a significant shift in longevity?
Could this be partial proof that the Flood truly occurred and that it triggered a significant transformation, even affecting human lifespans?
4. Additional Evidence Found in the Dead Sea Scrolls

The mysterious discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the late 1940s unveiled ancient writings that had been hidden for millennia. Among these, we found additional details about both the Flood and the Ark that Noah is said to have used.
The scrolls provide an extensive account of the Flood and the construction of the Ark. They propose that the Ark had a pyramid-like shape. Recent advancements in technology have allowed scholars to read a previously unreadable word: ne’esefet (“gathered”).
In the context of the ancient texts, the term implies that the “ribs of the Ark” were gathered at the top, suggesting it had a pyramid-like shape.
3. The Ark as a DNA Repository

Even if the Flood were proven to have actually occurred, does that mean the stories of the Ark are based on truth? For instance, how could any vessel possibly carry and preserve two of every species? Yet, similar tales of an Ark—or some form of vessel—appear across all flood myths. Could it be that the Ark was real after all?
One idea proposed by the ancient astronaut theory suggests this: What if the Ark, whatever its true form was, only carried the DNA of each living species, preparing for life to resume once the waters had subsided?
This implies that advanced technology was understood and utilized thousands of years ago. Yet, perhaps we should consider what Rabbi Ariel Bar Tzadok shared on the TV program Ancient Aliens:
The ancient flood was of great significance because the world before it was radically different from the world that came after. Legends from all corners of the globe describe the “preflood” era as an advanced, technological civilization where humans interacted with beings from the stars. This all vanished due to the corruption that took place!
While this idea may seem far-fetched to some, it’s certainly a thought-provoking concept!
2. Mainstream Acceptance (At Least of the Possibility)

What was once seen as the fantasy of fringe scientists and researchers is now being seriously considered by more mainstream scholars. This shift in perspective shows an increasing openness to the possibility—perhaps even probability—that the Flood was indeed a real event.
Some conspiracy theorists claim that this is part of a deliberate “drip-feeding” of information, similar to what alien researchers suggest the authorities are doing in their fields. However, assuming the Flood really happened, it’s more plausible that researchers are simply unwilling to risk making such an extraordinary claim without concrete proof. Given the passage of time, obtaining that proof might be exceptionally difficult.
1. Possible Connection to Aliens

In the late 1970s, researcher and author Zecharia Sitchin began publishing the first volumes of his Earth Chronicles series. In these works, he tells of an alien race, the Anunnaki, who arrived on Earth and created a race of human laborers to help mine the planet for gold. These accounts are based on Sitchin's translations of ancient Sumerian texts.
In this narrative, the Anunnaki were aware of an impending great flood, but they chose not to intervene and save humanity. Instead, Enlil, a leader of the Anunnaki, directed his favored human to build a ship. This individual was tasked with bringing along what was necessary to preserve life, ensuring the repopulation of Earth after the floodwaters receded.
It’s worth mentioning that many people completely dismiss the work and theories proposed by Sitchin. However, another ancient text, the Epic of Gilgamesh, contains similar stories. Numerous ancient astronaut theorists argue that Gilgamesh is filled with references to extraterrestrial beings.
