It’s safe to say that most people, even the most skeptical and pragmatic among us, secretly wish that time travel could be a genuine possibility. The thought of witnessing the past or even the future firsthand, or (setting aside any paradoxes for a moment) being able to travel back and change a mistake, warn someone we care about, or even ourselves, is something that would likely appeal to everyone.
With this in mind, the following ten cases probably won’t fuel the hopes of those dreaming of a time-traveling adventure, and they shouldn’t just be taken lightly—they should be met with a hefty dose of skepticism. Nonetheless, these individuals recently shared their bizarre claims about coming from either the near or far-off future. Here’s what they had to say. Interestingly, they almost always chose to speak with the same media outlet, Apex TV, which seems like a mere coincidence, of course!
10. Edward Presents a Picture of LA from the Year 5000

One of the most captivating time travel tales emerged in February 2018, when a man named 'Edward' claimed to possess a photograph of Los Angeles, submerged beneath the ocean, from the year 5000. He also shared a rather detailed account of his story.
Edward claimed to have become involved in a top-secret government experiment in 2004, where he was transported to the year 5000. Originally working as a technical support engineer, he was recruited by a clandestine organization working on revolutionary technical inventions. He further asserted that the brightest minds in science and technology are often quickly recruited by this shadow government, with the rise of celebrity scientists being part of a diversion to mislead the public.
According to Edward, humanity survives the effects of melting polar ice caps by living on massive floating cities made from wooden platforms. Although he wouldn’t share more details of his work, he revealed that these secretive projects often involve sums of money equivalent to the annual budgets of entire nations.
9. John Travels from the Year 4000 Over Concerns About Artificial Intelligence

A similar story comes from 'John,' who claimed to be from the future—the year 4000—and the co-founder of a prominent car company from his time, called Zucar. According to him, he had spent the last six years living in the past (our present) due to his growing concerns over the rise of AI and its potential consequences for humanity.
John also provided a photograph of Earth from thousands of years in the future. The image depicted an automated car manufacturing plant, where spider-like machines were seen mass-producing a futuristic vehicle, which John identified as the DR-18, a car that would be, or already is, 'impossible' to crash.
John explained that artificial intelligence takes over most of the work in the future. This includes not just manual labor, but also much of the 'intelligent work,' which is handled by robots with minimal human involvement. One particularly strange claim he made was that there are no birds left in the year 4000. They were deliberately eradicated to prevent damage to flying cars. Additionally, pets like dogs and cats, which we take for granted today, are nearly extinct. The few that remain can only be seen in zoos.
8. Clara from 3780: 'Time Travel Is Already in Use Today'

In January 2018, 'Clara' spoke of serving in a secret division of the United States military and being part of a highly classified experiment in the year 2000. She claimed to have been sent to the year 3780 on a mission to retrieve a piece of technology meant for unspecified, secret purposes.
To explain the concept of time travel, Clara offered the following analogy: 'Imagine time is a measurement, like height, length, or depth. Let’s say you’re swimming in the ocean at a depth of two meters. You can easily dive deeper. This is essentially the same concept you can apply to time, provided you have the right tools and understanding.' Got it? No? Well, me neither. And let's be honest, that whole 'appropriate equipment and knowledge' part is a pretty big caveat.
Despite this, Clara also insisted that time travel is already in use in 2018 and has been for decades, claiming that 'the technology is used for military operations.'
7. Greek Time Travelers

It seems that time travel projects aren’t exclusive to the US military. In December 2017, an anonymous man revealed that he had traveled to the year 3207 as part of a top-secret project run by the Greek military. He shared that after serving six years in the Greek forces, he was invited in 2013 to participate in this secret project. The Greek officer reportedly spent two days in the year 3207, but didn’t provide any further details.
Interestingly, a similar account emerged from Greece just a month later. This time, the alleged time traveler was a student when an unnamed professor offered him the opportunity to participate in a time travel experiment in 2008. He agreed and was transported to the year 10000. Like many others on this list, he returned with a photograph (shown above). The purpose of the experiment was to gather information about a future war between humans and artificial intelligence.
6. William Taylor

Another widely covered, though brief, story involved William Taylor, who claimed in January 2018 to have been part of a top-secret British Intelligence project for nearly two decades.
Perhaps unsettling to some, Taylor stated that in the year 8973 (the year he visited), 'humans were gone,' replaced by a hybrid species of part-human, part-robot beings that enjoy immortality. Although he managed to take several photos of this future world, upon his return to 2005, the UK intelligence services confiscated them.
Taylor also shared several other intriguing details, including the claim that time travel has been available to world governments since 1981. Furthermore, in addition to the ability to travel through time, they also have the capability to move between dimensions and timelines. This technology, according to Taylor, is the result of reverse-engineering recovered UFOs. Interestingly, he also mentioned that time travel would be publicly acknowledged in 2028. Keep that date in mind for a moment.
5. Noah Novak Travels to the Future and the Past

Not only did Noah Novak travel from the year 2030 to 2070, but he also met his future self, 40 years older. Together, both versions of Novak traveled back to 2018, where they shared their experiences. Among the many bizarre claims, this one might be the first to be dismissed even by the most open-minded time travel enthusiasts.
That said, it’s worth noting some of the predictions made by the Novaks regarding the upcoming decade or so. Apparently, in 2020, we can expect another four years of a Trump presidency as he wins a second term in office. In 2021, a global explosion of AI will occur, with no signs of slowing down. By 2028, the first manned mission to Mars will successfully take place.
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect, however, is the prediction of another major world event in 2028. As William Taylor suggested, the world will be introduced to the concept of time travel two years before the 2020s come to a close.
4. Time Traveling Alien from 6491 Gets Stranded on Earth

In a claim that adds a surprising twist to the typical time travel story, James Oliver asserted in January 2018 that he was from the future—the year 6491—and found himself not only stuck in the past (from his perspective), but also 'stranded on Earth,' with his home planet located in a 'distant solar system.'
According to Oliver, he had arrived on Earth as part of a scientific mission. However, a 'Super Blue Blood Moon' caused significant malfunctions with his spacecraft, leading to an interruption in the time travel transmission that ultimately left him stranded.
It’s unclear whether Oliver has any options available to him for returning not only to his own time but also to his home planet. He commented, 'I could be here for a few more days, years, decades, or even centuries. I really don’t know.' However, he did share some vague insights into the future that awaits humanity on Earth, which is about to enter one of the most critical phases in its history over the next few hundred years.
3. Drunk Man Claims to Be a Time Traveler Warning of an Alien Invasion

The story of a drunk time traveler in Casper, Wyoming, is worth noting for its quick thinking, even if it was more of a lighthearted piece for news outlets to feature at the end of a segment. His claims would make for an amusing story, or at least an at-least-you’re-not-him moment.
After being arrested for public intoxication in October 2017, the man calmly stated that he had 'traveled back in time to warn of an alien invasion.' He predicted the invasion would occur in 2018 and urged people to leave immediately. He also requested to speak to the 'president of the town.' To add a touch of credibility to his story, he explained that a mistake had occurred, and he should have actually arrived in 2018. Furthermore, he claimed that the only way to time travel was by filling his body with alcohol, which the 'aliens' had apparently done for him.
At the very least, this story might be one to keep in mind should you ever find yourself in a similar situation.
2. W.D. Davis Brings ‘Miracle Food’ From 2200

In March 2018, a man identifying himself only as 'W.D. Davis' (for the safety of his true identity) claimed to have traveled from the year 2200. As proof of his extraordinary story, he brought with him a 'miracle food pellet' that could sustain a person for an entire week. Even more remarkable, these pellets had reportedly solved the problem of global hunger and were distributed by governments every month.
Just when the claims seemed as fantastical as they could get, Davis revealed that he was actually 103 years old, despite the fact that the average life expectancy in 2200 was around 200 years. This longevity was attributed to the eradication of all diseases, including cancer, which in turn rendered doctors and the pharmaceutical industry obsolete. In the future, humans coexisted with shape-shifting aliens, both on Earth and in underwater cities. Some people even lived on Mars.
1. Former Soviet Georgian Travels To 9428

A man from the European country of Georgia, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed to have traveled to the year 9428. His story dates back to 1987, when Georgia was still a part of the Soviet Union. Like other Eastern Bloc nations, Georgia participated in 'secret Soviet scientific experiments' and investigations. While these experiments were mainly focused on improving life for people, some were military in nature, seeking new weapons or even 'injections that could turn a man into a superhero.'
The Georgian man’s mission was essentially an investigative one using an experimental time machine. His task was to travel to the future to 'see everything with [his] own eyes' and report back. His journey took place on December 11, 1987, to the year 9428. He explained that the reason for sending him so far into the future was that time travel operates in phases of roughly 400 years, and a mere 400-year leap would not have provided the answers the scientists needed. Therefore, 9428 was chosen as the target year to gather insights into the long-term future of Earth and the broader universe.
