While Arrested Development played a pivotal role in boosting the careers of Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett, it also introduced several other actors in minor roles who later rose to prominence in both television and film.
1. Craig Robinson
In the season two episode "Switch Hitter," Craig Robinson portrayed a security guard at Tantamount Studios, competing with Tobias for the part of "Confidence Man 2." Post-Arrested Development, Robinson gained fame through roles in This Is The End, Pineapple Express, and his standout performance in NBC's The Office.
2. Jack McBrayer
In the season two episode "Burning Love" and season three's "S.O.B.s," Jack McBrayer from 30 Rock made an appearance as a waiter at the country club.
3. Armie Hammer
Long before his roles as the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network and Disney's The Lone Ranger, Armie Hammer delivered a single line in the season two episode "The Immaculate Election." After G.O.B. accidentally reveals his nephew's "Star Wars kid" video, Hammer shouts, "Hey, Star Dork!" at George Michael in a brief moment.
4. Andy Samberg
In the closing moments of the season two finale, Andy Samberg shows up as the stage manager for the Blue Man Group. He later became a prominent cast member on Saturday Night Live and a lead actor in the Fox series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
5. Simon Helberg
In the season two episode "Meat the Veals," Simon Helberg, known for The Big Bang Theory, takes on the role of Jeff, Maeby's assistant, while she masquerades as a movie studio executive.
6. Phyllis Smith
Phyllis Smith, widely recognized as Phyllis Vance from The Office, made an early appearance on Arrested Development as a Bluth Company employee in the season two episode "The Immaculate Election," before joining Dunder Mifflin's sales team.
7. Brian Baumgartner
Brian Baumgartner portrayed a gun vendor who sells a rifle to Tobias in the season two episode "Burning Love." He is best known for his role as Kevin Malone, the lovably dim-witted accountant on The Office, where he eventually worked alongside Phyllis Smith.
8. Beck Bennett
Before becoming a featured cast member on Saturday Night Live, Beck Bennett took on the role of a straight character in a "straightbait" adult film featured in season four's "A New Start."
9 and 10. Kenny & Keith Lucas
Kenny & Keith Lucas made their appearance in the season four finale of Arrested Development, titled "Blockheads." The Lucas Brothers were among the sets of twins who voted against George Michael during his conflict with his dorm roommate P-Hound. They later gained recognition for creating the animated series Lucas Bros. Moving Co. on Comedy Central and for their standout performances in 22 Jump Street.
