1 & 2. Alice In Wonderland
The enchanting universe of Alice in Wonderland has captivated both young and old for generations. Crafted by Karen Portaleo of Highland Bakery, this cake stands out by featuring a delightful array of iconic characters from the timeless tale.
While Tim Burton's adaptation offered a more mature take compared to the classic Disney version, many children adore its darker twist on Wonderland. This cake, designed by Fatma Ozmen Metinel, beautifully embodies the essence of Burton's imaginative interpretation.
3. The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Cakes by Cat masterfully recreated Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The cake was even photographed alongside the book, allowing for a delightful side-by-side comparison.
4. The Giving Tree
If The Giving Tree tugged at your heartstrings as a child, slicing into this heartfelt homage to the story might bring back those emotional memories. A special thanks to Tiffany’s Baking Company for capturing the poignant essence of Shel Silverstein's timeless tale.
5. Yo Gabba Gabba
As the saying goes in Gabbaland, 'My name is Jill—and I like to dance.' This incredible Yo Gabba Gabba cake, captured by Jaysin Trevino, makes me want to dance with joy just like a little kid.
6. Olivia
It seems as though Brendy’s Cakes has a magical ability to bring Olivia to life, as if she’s leaped straight from the pages of her book into reality.
7. Curious George
What makes this cake by Bellaman Desserts truly special is how it perfectly illustrates George’s knack for getting into mischief. Before the celebration even begins, he’s already splattered paint across the cake and left colorful paw prints along its edges. Thankfully, The Man With The Yellow Hat is always there to forgive his playful antics.
8. Cars
Though Lightning McQueen takes the spotlight, Mater steals hearts as the most endearing character in the Cars series. This cake by Sweetbakes pays a perfect homage to the lovable redneck tow truck.
9. Kung Fu Panda
I have a feeling Jack Black would beam with pride if he saw this stunning cake by BCakeNY, inspired by his iconic role in the beloved DreamWorks movies.
10. Adventure Time
Devotees of the Cartoon Network show will instantly appreciate the brilliance of this cake by Little Cherry Cake Company. It showcases Finn, an enormous Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Ice King, Marceline, Beemo, and other beloved characters. I can only hope the back includes Lumpy Space Princess and Lady Rainicorn, as they’re my personal favorites.
11. Clifford the Big Red Dog
For anyone who grew up reading this series or watching its animated adaptation, this cake by Sweetbakes is an absolute masterpiece, capturing the essence of the beloved story.
