Clear equipment? We see past that ploy ... and we’re all for it.
1. Public bathrooms
This glass-walled restroom in Lausanne, Switzerland offers a truly open-air experience. For privacy, users simply press a button to transform the liquid crystal smart glass from transparent to opaque, reverting once they’re done. (See it in action). It’s not the only transparent toilet: In 2004, artist Monica Bonvicini created a public restroom titled "Don’t Miss a Sec" using one-way mirrors for Switzerland’s Art Basel. This unique facility has since been showcased and used in London.
2. Canoe
What could be more thrilling than enjoying a getaway with crystal-clear waters? Experiencing it all from your luxurious see-through canoe! For those who prefer kayaking, a transparent kayak is also up for grabs at a cool $6,750.
3. Pinball machine

4. Glass shells
Glass Shells
Artist Robert DuGrenier crafts hermit crab shells that mimic the real thing, but with a twist—they’re made from exquisite hand-blown glass. While your crab will eventually outgrow this stunning habitat, you’ll have a front-row seat to its every move in the meantime.
5. Piano
Crystal Pianos
The perfect musical term to describe this transparent piano: capriccioso—playful and whimsical in style.
6. Toaster

8. Bikes
DesignBoom
The Clarity Bike takes transparency to the next level with its frame crafted from Trivex, a material that serves as an alternative to polycarbonate.
If subtlety isn’t your style, consider DIY artist Jimmy Kuenle’s see-through bike featuring Lexan panels. It’s guaranteed to turn heads, even without a matching outfit.
9. Car
TrendHunter
Alternatively, you could commute in style. This Nissan hybrid prototype, aptly named the Panorama, offers a unique driving experience. Meanwhile, these other transparent concept cars are speeding toward innovation.
10. Cellphone
Digital Trends
Brace yourself. If Polytron’s prototype ever hits the market, misplacing your cellphone will become even more of a challenge.
11. Glass-bottom plane
Virgin Atlantic
