Did you know that Wednesday marks Harry Potter’s birthday? In honor of this special day, we’ve gathered some of the most magical cakes inspired by J.K. Rowling’s iconic series.

To honor all of the Hogwarts houses, Bakingdom crafted this amazing cake that resembles scarves from each house, making it a perfect treat to kick off Quidditch season with a message of friendly competition and good sportsmanship.

There are plenty of Sorting Hat cakes out there, but this one from Highland Bakery takes it to the next level, placing the Sorting Hat atop a stunning cake featuring a painted image of the Hogwarts Express.

To be clear, Rosebud Cake’s sculpted birdcage and Hedwig aren't part of the actual cake, but they certainly enhance the design and were specially created for this project. Hedwig and her cage must be lifted to unveil the cake hidden below. And of course, the books, glasses, wand, and potion are all completely edible.
8. Hedwig’s Ideal Perch
If you’re a fan of towering cakes, you’ll adore this enormous broom cake by Deb Kichline. The incredible details—like a quill, ink, books, a wand, scarf, golden snitches, and Hedwig—are enough to impress. But wait, the owl and snitches actually rotate on top of the broom! The custom cake stand is equipped with an iPod and speakers, playing the Harry Potter theme as the top spins.

Cake Central user pbjoachim cleverly recreated the covers of the Harry Potter books, turning them into perfectly shaped cakes with a wand and a ribbon bookmark. Bravo indeed!
12. The Collection of Every Flavor Cupcake Toppers
What makes these cupcakes by Claire’s Cupcakes so delightful is the variety of iconic toppings. Each cupcake showcases representations of all the Hogwarts houses in two different styles, a sign for Platform 9 ¾, the Sorting Hat, the signature glasses, lightning bolt, brooms, and—my personal favorite—Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans on some of them.
