However, before rushing to a salon for a professional manicure, try these simple, stunning designs. We’ve gathered easy nail art ideas that anyone can master, regardless of shaky hands or time constraints—some require basic brush strokes, while others use tools or techniques that make the process simpler.
1. Colorful Stripes
The charm of this simple manicure, designed by @paintbynaptime, lies in its beautiful abstract imperfection. You only need a nail painting brush and three to six coordinating colors. 2. Neutral, Two-Toned Nails
This understated, stone-inspired manicure by Sundays Studio blends sophistication with playfulness. To recreate it, paint your nails with the lighter color and let it dry. Then, apply nail tape down the center and paint the darker shade on one half. Once dry, remove the tape and apply a top coat.
3. Abstract Waves
You can customize this easy nail art design with any color combination you prefer. Instagram user @nailzzbysteph chose pastel shades. Start by painting your nails with a nude base color, then use a nail art brush to create abstract waves with different colors on each finger. Adding a white wave can add more depth to the design.
4. DIY Marble Stickers
Don’t be intimidated by this seemingly complex nail art design! It’s much simpler to create than it appears. The process involves making your own nail stickers, which Alena Monson, founder of Whats Up Beauty and Nails, assures is very beginner-friendly, even for those with shaky hands.
Place drops of two to three different nail polish colors on wax paper, then swirl them together using a toothpick or nail art brush. The design should be large enough to cover your entire nail. Let it dry for a couple of hours.

French manis are currently trending, with plenty of variations to choose from. This design features two contrasting colors brushed in an abstract V-shape across the tip of the nail. Start by painting one side with the lighter shade, let it dry, then paint the other side and seal with a top coat. “If you accidentally get polish on your skin, don’t worry,” says Rianna Basurto, marketing specialist at Bellacures. “Use a brush or Q-tip dipped in acetone to clean it up.”

Start with a base coat and neutral gel polish, then wipe away the tacky layer with rubbing alcohol. Apply a no-wipe top coat and cure it for 60 seconds. “The no-wipe top coat is essential for a smooth and glossy chrome finish,” says nail tech Haley Ann. “Wipe again with rubbing alcohol, take a small amount of chrome powder, and rub it into the cured top coat until it shines.” Seal it with the top coat again and cure. She used Luxa Platinum Chrome Powder to achieve this look.

This sticker design is another simple yet creative option, especially if you have a heart-shaped hole punch to quickly make the design. Follow the same instructions as above, then peel off the design from the wax paper and punch out the shapes. Apply them to your tacky nails, then seal with a top coat.

Begin by painting your nails with a soft blue shade, then dip a nail brush into white polish and gently dab it onto your nails to form fluffy, cloud-like shapes. Just like real clouds, they don’t need to be perfect. In fact, a more relaxed approach will make them appear more natural.
