For jewelry lovers who enjoy refreshing their style, affordable pieces are essential. However, a low price tag doesn't always guarantee quality. You certainly don’t want to invest in jewelry that fades or wears down quickly.
To uncover stunning pieces that give you the luxe look without the hefty price tag, we reached out to the entire Mytour editorial team for their favorite brands that offer excellent quality at budget-friendly prices. We received over 20 responses and 14 distinct brand recommendations, including options from both major and independent retailers. We also consulted with Alison Bruhn, co-founder of The Style That Binds Us, and Brenna Lyden, CEO and founder of East West Gem Co.
What defines affordable jewelry?
When discussing affordable jewelry brands, we refer to those with an average price point of approximately $150.
Etsy

The selection is vast, allowing you to discover highly unique, custom jewelry.
Quality can vary depending on the seller.
With over 16 million listings, Etsy is a treasure trove for finding any type of jewelry you can imagine. It was also the top recommendation from the Mytour team, with five editors naming it their favorite place to find affordable pieces.
“I adore Etsy because it's a one-stop shop for just about anything—it's where I discovered the miniature Anne of Green Gables pendant I gave to a friend for her birthday,” says features director Amy Maclin. “You can directly communicate with sellers to ensure you're getting exactly what you want, plus it’s great to support small businesses.”
Etsy provides a variety of filters to help you narrow down your search, including options for occasion, holiday, gemstone, material, style, theme, and more. It’s particularly perfect for finding vintage, handmade, or bold statement jewelry.
“Finding the perfect piece of jewelry on Etsy can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, but with patience and some precise keyword searches, you can uncover truly amazing finds,” says senior home editor Hannah Baker.
Managing editor Tara Cox shares her thoughts: “Am I searching for a floating anchor necklace? A KISS band pendant? Or perhaps a ring adorned with stars? Whatever the mood, I can search and discover even more recommendations that lead me down new and exciting paths.”
Etsy truly shines when it comes to custom jewelry. You’ll find a wide range of unique, personalized pieces, including name rings, engraved necklaces, and bracelets featuring the coordinates of a meaningful place. You can even have a child’s drawing transformed into a necklace to celebrate a special occasion.
Just keep in mind that sellers are responsible for setting their own shipping rates and return policies, and quality may vary depending on the shop you choose.
“I hate to jinx it, but my experiences with Etsy sellers have always been fantastic,” says contributing senior research editor Maya Kukes. “They’re excellent communicators about shipping, and the thoughtful notes they include with orders always bring a smile to my face. The personal touches make me feel great about supporting small businesses, and honestly, the selection is unmatched. As cliché as it sounds, Etsy really does have something for everyone.”
Price Range: $2–$50,000 | Jewelry Types: Necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, watches, body jewelry | Return Window: Varies by seller

Mejuri

It offers a diverse selection of jewelry, with dedicated sections for men and weddings.
The jewelry designs are mostly minimalist, so it might not appeal to everyone.
Mejuri is renowned for providing fine jewelry at accessible prices. Here, you’ll find reasonably priced pieces crafted from 14-karat gold, yellow gold, and precious stones like white sapphire, pearls, and even diamonds (which are also great earring options for sensitive ears). Earrings are particularly affordable, with options like 14-karat yellow gold studs, pearl drop earrings, and single diamond studs, all priced under $100.
“I LOVE Mejuri,” says shopping editorial director Nicole Lund. “I own a few pieces, including both gifts I’ve received and ones I’ve bought for others. Everything I’ve gotten from Mejuri has been high-quality, stylish, and durable—my oldest piece is about five years old and still looks as good as new.”
VP Kate Geraghty concurs: “One thing I love about my Mejuri pieces is how they’ve held up over the years with regular wear. With many affordable jewelry brands, pieces start to show signs of wear after just a few months, but my Mejuri rings, which I’ve had for years, still look as bright and clean as the day I bought them. The solid gold options do come with a higher price, but in my opinion, they’re well worth it, and the rings, in particular, are a great deal for the price.”
Mejuri is especially known for its minimalist hoop earrings, offering a wide range, including beaded and diamond styles. You can also purchase charms to personalize your hoops and make an even bolder statement.
The downside is that most of Mejuri’s pieces are tailored to minimalists, so those seeking bold, colorful designs might be left wanting. However, Mejuri does offer a men’s collection featuring chains, necklaces, and rings. There are also wedding bands for all genders, along with simple yet elegant engagement rings.
Price Range: $38–$8,400 | Jewelry Types: Earrings, necklaces, chains, bracelets, rings | Return Window: 30 days
Mejuri Editor’s Picks:
- Slim Signet Ring
- Sapphire Choker
- Bold Pearl Drop Earrings

Gorjana

You can personalize jewelry in many ways, such as with birthstones, initials, engravings, and charms.
There’s a limited selection of silver pieces available.
Gorjana is a perfect destination for gold jewelry lovers. The brand offers a stunning variety of both timeless and unique pieces that will become lifetime favorites. Among the selection are delicate pendant necklaces that you can personalize with charms, including hearts, lockets, or even a sparkling bee. Additionally, there are signet rings, chain-link bracelets in both slim and bold designs, and a wide range of hoops.
“Gorjana is my absolute favorite place for affordable jewelry,” says shopping editor Lily Gray. “It doesn’t help that I live right across from the store. I’ve got several earrings, bracelets, and necklaces from there, and none have tarnished or lost their quality after years of regular wear. They offer a beautiful selection of basic jewelry that complements almost any style.”
Lily is especially fond of the Lou Hoops, which she wears daily. This brand is a great choice if you have several ear piercings, as they offer a fantastic selection of studs, huggie-style earrings, and sets perfect for layering.
Gorjana also offers a wide range of affordable fine jewelry. You can find pieces made from 14-karat gold, as well as options featuring opals, pearls, and diamonds. “I bought two fine jewelry pieces for my sister when she had her daughters, and they still shine beautifully,” says Lily.
Additionally, if you're interested in customizing your jewelry, there are plenty of options available—beyond just monogramming. You can find astrological necklaces, birthstone earrings, and numerous pieces that can be engraved.
Price Range: $25-$135 | Jewelry Types: Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, charms | Return Window: 30 days

Astrid & Miyu

60% of its jewelry is crafted using recycled metals.
Earrings cannot be returned.
Astrid & Miyu, a jewelry brand based in London, is known for its modern designs. They offer a wide range of jewelry, including pendant necklaces featuring zodiac signs and initials, minimalist rings, bold statement pieces, and stackable sets. We especially love the ease with which you can filter earrings based on the type of piercing.
Astrid & Miyu carries jewelry for all types of piercings, including conch, helix, tragus, and lobe earrings. For those on a budget, there are sterling silver styles plated with 18-karat gold, while those willing to invest in higher-end pieces can find solid 14-karat gold options.
Nicole Lund found Astrid & Miyu while searching for a place to buy ‘permanent jewelry’—pieces that are welded on and can’t be removed. She says, 'I decided to get a bracelet ‘zapped’ on, and after some research, I chose Astrid & Miyu. The experience was amazing, the prices were fair, and the quality was excellent. I was concerned it would tarnish quickly, but six months later, it still looks as good as new!'
Astrid & Miyu is also committed to sustainability, offering a silver jewelry recycling program and an entire collection made from recycled sterling silver. Unfortunately, the brand has only one U.S. store, located in New York City, so those elsewhere can't view the pieces in person before purchasing. However, if you’re in NYC, you can enjoy services like welding, piercing, and even tattooing.
Price Range: $40-$490 | Jewelry Types: Earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets | Return Window: 28 days; earrings and huggies are non-returnable

Madewell also offers a small collection of playful pieces for those with a more eclectic style. In addition to that, you'll find watches and fine jewelry, though these tend to be on the pricier side. “And the sales are incredible!” says Leslie. “You can grab an already affordable piece for an even better deal.”

The brand focuses only on gold jewelry, with many of the pieces being fairly simple in design.
It may seem like a given, but Amazon truly offers an exceptional range of affordable jewelry. With countless brands available, one that stands out is Pavoi, a brand recommended by editorial apprentice Megan Lenzi.
“I found Pavoi on Amazon a few years ago, and since then, I’ve never looked back. The brand offers a wide variety of jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and more. Pavoi jewelry is available not only on Amazon but also at Walmart and the brand’s official website. Specializing exclusively in gold, Pavoi offers options in 14k solid gold, yellow gold, white gold, and gold-plated varieties. Overall, it’s the most budget-friendly option on our list, with prices topping out at $83 for necklaces, the priciest items in their collection.

Ana Luisa

The brand emphasizes eco-conscious and transparent practices, including achieving carbon and water neutrality.
Its jewelry tends to be delicate, making it less suitable for those seeking bold, chunky statement pieces.
For those who prioritize sustainability, Ana Luisa is a standout. The brand ensures its jewelry is crafted ethically and upholds carbon and water neutrality throughout its production process.
The brand also makes an effort to recycle whenever possible, including in its jewelry production. Some of the gold-plated pieces featured on Ana Luisa’s website are crafted using recycled sterling silver.
Ana Luisa offers a variety of jewelry, including rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, primarily featuring gold as a base metal, with some items adorned with cubic zirconia stones. The collection has limited silver and large statement jewelry, with earrings and necklaces being the most prominent items available.
The brand boasts an array of subtly striking pieces that aren’t overwhelming but still manage to make an impression, such as designs featuring charms or colorful stones.
It has become a new favorite for shopping editorial director Nicole Lund: “I spontaneously picked up two pairs of earrings here, and they’ve quickly become some of my top choices! I appreciate that they're unique without being too over the top—you can pair them with anything, yet they still feel distinctive. The Gemstone Hoop Earrings look way more expensive than they are, and I’ve received so many compliments on them!”
Price Range: $29-$350 | Jewelry Types: Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings | Return Window: 30 days

It’s a great place to experiment with trends without spending much!”

Sézane

Known for its use of distinctive shapes, materials, and textures.
The selection is relatively limited.
Sézane, a French brand, introduces a touch of European sophistication to the American jewelry scene. Their pieces are expertly crafted and manage to exude a sense of grandeur, whether it’s a delicate pendant necklace or bold, oversized hoop earrings. Most of their offerings are gold, though they also carry beaded necklaces, gemstone rings, and bracelets.
“I absolutely love Sézane!” says senior home editor Leslie Corona. “The jewelry is so eclectic—every piece has a unique, slightly quirky cool vibe, but it’s still polished and elegant. Plus, Sézane isn't hugely popular in the U.S. yet, so you're unlikely to see many people wearing the same thing. It just feels extra special! And the jewelry always arrives in a lovely patterned box or pouch, which I keep and reuse for other things.”
Sézane’s jewelry collection is most notable for its stunning earrings. You'll discover striking drop and hoop earrings, perfect for a sophisticated resort look—featuring vibrant designs ideal for your summer getaway.
Keep in mind that Sézane's jewelry collection evolves with each season, so what you see on their site now may no longer be available in the coming months.

Verameat

Each creation is meticulously hand-crafted, offering a bold, one-of-a-kind style you won't find anywhere else.
Returns aren’t allowed, but you can exchange items within 30 days.
Verameat is a celebrity-favorite, woman-owned brand known for its bold, statement-making designs, including barbed wire necklaces, snake rings, and tarot-themed hoop earrings. These pieces are far from subtle! All creations are handmade in New York City and feature distinctive, artisan details. It’s a fantastic choice for gifts, offering a range of items that cater to both maximalists and minimalists alike.
“Verameat offers the best statement jewelry that combines elegance and timelessness,” says senior shopping editor Taylor Rock. “The stunning, durable pieces fit effortlessly with the jewelry you already own, and each item exudes personality without being too much. I wear the Barbed Babe Necklace regularly, and the Sweet Tooth Necklace is currently in my cart. While it may seem pricey at first, the brand often offers discounts of over 70%.”
However, due to Verameat's small scale, customer service isn't the best. The brand doesn't offer refunds or returns unless the item is damaged within 30 days of purchase, but you can exchange an item for a different one or a different size within 30 days.
Shipping is also slower than other brands, with a delivery window of one to five weeks for standard shipping. But if that doesn't put you off, the brand’s bold, distinctive pieces are sure to impress.
Price Range: $38-$780 | Jewelry Types: Necklaces, chokers, rings, earrings, bracelets, pins | Return Window: No refunds, only exchanges; returns for damaged items within 30 days
Verameat Editor Picks:
- Barbed Babe Necklace
- Sweet Tooth Necklace
Vitaly

Each piece is backed by a lifetime warranty and crafted from sturdy stainless steel.
The majority of the designs are bold and chunky, which might not appeal to those who prefer sleek, minimalist styles.
Much like Verameat, Vitaly is a brand that excels in creating bold, modern jewelry that is not for the faint of heart. Each piece is crafted from stainless steel, with options available in gold, silver, or black finishes. Vitaly’s most popular designs are its chains, which include both chunky necklaces and delicate bracelets that have timeless appeal. Additionally, you’ll find rings, earrings, and pendants within their collection.
Vitaly is a top pick of assistant editor Hannah Dorough, who shares: “I love Vitaly because it combines classic designs with an edgy twist, and the quality is superb!” Her personal favorite is the Basis Ring, a design featuring two curving rings connected by a cable chain.
A key feature of Vitaly’s offering is its lifetime warranty, provided on all their jewelry. However, this doesn’t cover lost items, scratches from normal use, or damage from improper care or storage. Still, it’s an uncommon benefit for a non-fine jewelry brand.
Additionally, every piece from Vitaly is unisex, though it’s worth noting that most of their designs are on the bulkier side, making it less ideal for those who prefer minimalist or sleek jewelry.
Price Range: $40-$250 | Jewelry Types: Chains, rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants | Return Window: 30 days
Vitaly’s Top Picks:
- Basis Ring
- Dropp Earrings
How to Shop for Affordable Jewelry Like a Pro
Metal
When shopping for jewelry, be sure to look for pieces made from pure silver and gold. These materials won’t wear off like plated versions nor tarnish the way sterling silver does. Though pure gold and silver come at a higher price, they’re worth the investment over time.
When it comes to silver, the two main types are pure silver and sterling silver. While sterling silver consists of over 90% silver, the remaining 10% is a different metal. For gold, karats indicate its purity level, so look for this measurement to determine whether a piece is made of pure gold.
A karat measures the proportion of gold in a piece of jewelry. The higher the karat, the closer the jewelry is to pure gold, which is 24 karats. Similar to sterling silver, the remaining portion of the jewelry is made from another metal.
“If I’m choosing a piece for daily wear, I tend to go with 14K gold, as it offers the best balance of durability and price,” shares Lyden.
Style
Make sure the jewelry you pick aligns with your personal style, but don’t be afraid to step outside your usual preferences. One of the perks of buying affordable jewelry is that it allows you to easily change up your pieces without spending too much.
This allows those who usually prefer minimalist jewelry to experiment with more fun and bold designs without spending too much on pieces they might not wear frequently, like necklaces or bracelets.
“If you can find jewelry that looks high-end but isn’t actual ‘fine’ jewelry, you can save a significant amount of money,” Bruhn suggests. “That way, if you lose an earring or a piece breaks or goes missing, it’s not a major loss.”
Shipping and Returns
When shopping online, it’s crucial to check the shipping and return policies. Many affordable jewelry stores offer free standard shipping, but usually, there’s a minimum order requirement to qualify for it.
If the store doesn’t offer free shipping or if your order doesn’t meet the free shipping minimum, delivery fees can add up. Also, if you need your items quickly (like for a last-minute gift), you might have to pay extra for expedited shipping.
Before making a purchase, be sure to check the return policy, especially if your new bracelet doesn’t look as good in person as you expected or your new ring doesn’t fit right. (Pro tip: Learn how to measure your ring size to ensure you get the perfect fit.)
Many of the sites we recommend offer a 30-day return policy, but it's always wise to double-check for any exceptions—clearance items and personalized products are often non-returnable.
Questions You Might Ask
What’s the Difference Between Gold-Filled and Gold-Plated Jewelry?
When browsing affordable jewelry, you’ll likely come across pieces described as gold-filled or gold-plated. While the terms may sound similar, they actually refer to different processes and qualities of gold coating.
“Simply put, gold-plated jewelry features a thin layer of gold applied over a base metal, which forms the foundation of the piece,” explains Lyden. “The base metal can vary, often including sterling silver, brass, or even copper. Gold-filled jewelry operates on the same principle but with more layers of gold and less base metal.”
It’s essential to clean gold-plated jewelry properly to prevent tarnishing and fading. Since gold-filled jewelry has a higher gold content, Bruhn refers to it as “a step below solid gold” in terms of quality.
Why Does Some Jewelry Make Your Skin Turn Green?
Your skin may turn green when wearing jewelry that contains copper. Copper reacts with moisture, lotion, and your skin’s oils, turning green naturally. This isn’t harmful, and you can simply wash it off with soap and water. In low-cost jewelry, copper is often the main component and is typically covered with a coating.
To prevent this, apply a coat of clear nail polish to the jewelry's parts that come into contact with your skin. This forms a barrier over the copper. However, you’ll need to reapply it regularly, so investing in copper-free jewelry may be a better long-term solution to avoid skin discoloration.
How Do You Prevent Jewelry From Tarnishing?
Tarnishing occurs when jewelry comes into contact with various common substances such as air, certain fabrics, and even food. “Sterling silver will tarnish if exposed to water or through natural oxidation, which is a process that happens over time,” explains Lyden. She also notes that gold jewelry—especially white gold—can lose its luster and become less vibrant over time.
To prevent tarnishing, take some extra care when handling your jewelry. “When wearing affordable jewelry, apply perfume, hairspray, and other products before putting on your earrings,” Bruhn suggests. “If you forget, simply wipe off your jewelry with a damp cloth to remove any products that could harm it.”
After each wear, be sure to wipe down your jewelry with a microfiber cloth. Occasionally, clean it with a small brush soaked in warm water and mild dish soap, or use a store-bought jewelry cleaner. Always dry your pieces thoroughly before storing them back in your jewelry box.
When storing jewelry, organize your pieces to give them space to breathe. If you’ve received fabric bags with your jewelry, keep them! They prevent your jewelry from touching and rubbing against each other, which helps it last longer. Bruhn particularly recommends using soft jewelry pouches for silver pieces to help slow down tarnishing.
