This year’s catwalks featured everything from shimmering metallics to bows and leather jackets. We’ve curated the best beauty and fashion trends from New York Fashion Week, including how to infuse these runway-ready styles into your wardrobe.
1. Smokey Eyes
Getty Images/Shannon FinneyPatBO created stunning smokey eye looks on the runway with the help of Stila Cosmetics. To recreate this dramatic look, choose a deep eyeshadow shade and blend it into the crease for that signature smokey effect. For a more subtle approach, go for a natural smokey eye with soft browns and blacks.
2. Metallic Colors
Getty Images/WWDWhile neutrals are timeless, it's hard to ignore the dazzling allure of the monochromatic metallic looks showcased at the Christian Siriano runway show. The shimmering chrome accents create a bold and glamorous vibe. To incorporate metallics into your wardrobe, begin with metallic nails and gradually embrace bolder pieces like metallic pants, dresses, and tops.
3. Bows

4. Voluminous Waves
Getty Images/Arun NevaderThe bigger the hair, the better. The Glaudi show at Art Hearts Fashion was brimming with voluminous waves and glamorous hair. Celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa, co-founder of The Beachwaver Co, revealed the secrets behind this runway-ready hairstyle.
She began by using the Beachwaver Pro One-Inch Curling Iron at a 90-degree angle, rotating it toward the face. After releasing the clamp, she rolled the curl back up and secured it with a clip. For extra volume, she positioned the curling iron horizontally near the roots. Once the hair had cooled completely, she removed the clips and let the curls fall naturally. To finish, Potempa applied a styling spray underneath the hair to add dramatic lift.
5. Tulle Texture
Getty Images/WWDWhen we think of tulle, ballet tutus immediately come to mind. But tulle has made its way from the ballet stage to the runway. This Christian Siriano dress demonstrates that you can never have too much tulle. The layers of tulle add texture and shape, giving dimension and elegance to any evening look.
6. Glass Skin
Getty Images/Victor VIRGILEModels hit the runway with the highly coveted 'glass skin' look, all about that radiant, dewy glow. By following a skincare and makeup routine that enhances luminosity, achieving glass skin at home is within reach.
The secret to the stunning glass skin seen on the models at the Jason Wu show was the Kate Somerville KateCeuticals SuperCell Rejuvenation Serum. According to Susan Mastaj, Kate Somerville esthetician, 'The cooling roller on this serum was ideal for calming and soothing the models' skin, especially after a hectic week of shows, which often disrupts their skin barriers.'
7. Oversized Outerwear

To transition from day to night, consider choosing an oversized jacket. Experiment with textures or go for an all-over monochrome look, just as Michael Kors did.
8. Monochromatic Red Looks
Getty Images/George ChinseeRed remains a powerful color for fall and winter 2024. The Christian Cowan runway showcased a sleek, red silk dress that exuded understated elegance. If an all-red ensemble isn't for you, start with red accessories and gradually build up to a full monochromatic red outfit.
9. Sleek High Pony
Getty Images/Arun NevaderGot greasy hair? A sleek high ponytail is the perfect solution for second or third-day hair. The Giannina Azar runway show with Art Hearts Fashion featured a polished high pony moment that stole the spotlight. Complement the look with bold statement earrings, just like seen on the runway.
Potempa explained how to achieve this sleek high pony look at the Giannina Azar runway show. She began by isolating one inch of face-framing hair. Next, she smoothly gathered the remaining hair into a high ponytail, securing it with an elastic. She wrapped a half-inch section of hair around the elastic to hide it, creating a polished finish. For a parted high pony, take the face-framing pieces, slick them back behind the ears, and secure with a small elastic. Complete the look by applying a serum to give the hair shine and gloss.
10. One Shoulder Necklines
Getty Images/Victor VIRGILEA stylish take on necklines, the one-shoulder design seen at the Jason Wu runway show exudes sophistication and grace. Refresh your wardrobe by incorporating this asymmetrical neckline into your pieces—think sweaters, dresses, and more.
11. Ruffles

Ruffles can be tailored to fit both minimalist and maximalist styles. For a bold statement, go all out with ruffles, or for a more subtle yet elegant approach, add just two to three ruffles to your ensemble.
12. Leather Jackets
Getty Images/Victor VIRGILECoach brought an edgy grunge vibe to the runway this season. Bring the street style into your own wardrobe by pairing an oversized hoodie with a leather biker jacket and jeans for a laid-back daytime look.
13. Hair Accessories
Getty Images/Arun NevaderFilled with glitz, glamour, and rhinestones, the Priya Chhabria show in collaboration with Art Hearts Fashion had multiple show-stopping moments, especially the dazzling embellished headpieces that stole the spotlight.
To master this iconic top knot, Potempa advises starting with a sleek high ponytail and securing it with an elastic. Twist the ponytail and wrap it around the base, securing it with hairpins. Pro-tip: Use hairspray and blow-dry the knot to ensure it stays upright.
14. Turtleneck Necklines
Getty Images/Victor VIRGILEThe Proenza Schouler runway made a bold statement with oversized turtleneck necklines. Whether in sweaters or cotton long sleeves, this style easily transitions from the runway to your work wardrobe.
15. Layers on Layers
Getty Images/Victor VIRGILE The Tommy Hilfiger runway delivered a chic, preppy layered style. To achieve this look at home, pair a white button-down with a sweater, then top it off with a blazer. Don’t forget to pull the collar out from under the sweater for that perfect layered effect.
