Launched in 1961 through a partnership between Harley-Davidson and Aermacchi, the Sprint featured a 250-cc horizontal four-stroke single engine.
Although the Sprint differed significantly from Harley's conventional offerings at the time, it gained considerable popularity among consumers.
By 1966, few changes had been made, though the design had evolved to reflect a more contemporary look. Both street and on/off-road Scrambler variants were available by then, and customized versions achieved notable success in competitive events.
In 1969, the street version of the Sprint, now named the SS, saw its engine displacement grow to 350 cc, while the Scrambler model retained the smaller engine until 1972.
After 1974, both models were phased out and replaced by two-stroke motorcycles, also manufactured by Aermacchi.
