The FXR, launched in 1982, was celebrated as a groundbreaking model for Harley-Davidson.

With a reinforced frame and Sportster-inspired forks, the FXRT delivered superior handling compared to earlier Big Twin models. Additionally, rubber engine mounts and a five-speed transmission ensured a quieter and more comfortable ride on highways.

In 1984, the FXRT was one of the select models to feature the advanced Evolution V2 engine, boosting its performance for touring enthusiasts.
