Designed specifically for sport-touring enthusiasts, the 1998 Ducati ST2 marked a slight shift in Ducati's focus. While it offered a more comfortable riding position and touring features, it still delivered the high-performance experience Ducati is known for.
The ST2 came equipped with an analog speedometer and tachometer, complemented by a digital display showing fuel level, engine temperature, and the current time. Its spring-loaded rearview mirrors reduced shock impact, and the full-coverage fairing provided enhanced protection against weather conditions.
Detachable integrated saddlebags could easily store a full-face helmet, and the streamlined 5.5-gallon fuel tank ensured long, enjoyable rides without frequent refueling stops.
Ducati ensured the 'sport' aspect wasn't overlooked in its sport-touring model. The ST2 boasted triple Brembo floating disc brakes, fully adjustable suspension, and a robust 944-cc, water-cooled, fuel-injected V-twin engine featuring Ducati's renowned desmodromic valvetrain.
While this model utilized a two-valve V-twin, a four-valve version soon followed, branded as the ST4.
