"I have a very thick head of naturally curly hair and have put it through just about everything, including all kinds of hot tools, at-home dye kits, various shampoos and conditioners, pretty much every dry shampoo and hair oil out there, and just about anything else for a story for you, dear readers. A lot of products have either flat out failed, been meh enough that I wouldn't recommend, or been fantastic but too expensive to feel good recommending. Essentially, a lot of stuff ends up in the trash or passed to my (thankful) friends when it doesn't work for me. But THIS STUFF. This has become my go-to for spraying on wet hair before blow drying. Normally, I'd use a heat protector and an oil treatment or leave-in conditioner before blow drying. But this 10-in-1 treatment takes the crown! Most of the time, when I use it, I don't even need to follow up with hair oil (and I've been doing that as an essential step for years). It's that good! Here, I have freshly blow-dried hair using this Amika blow dryer brush. The brush is great by itself, but this spray treatment has doubled its effectiveness. I’ve been using this, along with Eva NYC’s Lazy Jane Conditioner and Salt-Free Wave Spray, and they’ve totally transformed my hair! Most days, my hair can't decide if it wants to be straight, wavy, or even a bit curly. "I bleach my dark brown-black Asian hair blonde every six to eight weeks, so when I first heard stylists at my salon raving about K18, I was immediately intrigued. And it turns out, the rest of the world loves it too, because it was sold out at Sephora the first time I tried to purchase it. I eventually managed to grab a tiny tester on Amazon and was absolutely amazed at how much softer my hair became. Seriously. I spent the whole day running my fingers through my hair, and even my boyfriend agreed that my hair was noticeably silkier.

Olaplex used to be my go-to before I tried K18, and I still stand by it, but I love that K18 is a leave-in treatment rather than an in-shower mask. Having to wait 10 minutes for Olaplex to work felt like an eternity, especially on days when I wasn’t taking a full shower (you know, the kind where you exfoliate and shave). With K18, you let it sit for just four minutes after your shower to activate, and then you can style your hair (or simply let it air dry, like I do).

I've found that my hair is softest the next day, so don’t be discouraged if your hair looks or feels the same right after using it. One final note: it is quite pricey, but a little goes a long way. The 5-mL tube I purchased has lasted about five washes, and eventually K18 can become a maintenance product, so you won’t need to use it every time you wash your hair."
