Highlighted review: "This curl defining cream is amazing and a must-have for me. I have 4a, high-density, low-porosity, coarse hair. It gives my hair incredible definition and moisture. I find it works best with the LCO method. I dampen my hair, apply this cream, then add some apricot or sweet almond oil. It doesn't mix well with other brands or products, but that's fine because you don’t need anything else. I highly recommend it over other curl-defining creams." —Crh

"I have 4c hair, thick strands with medium density and a dry scalp. First off, the slip this treatment gives is amazing. The tangles practically melt away. That’s enough to make this mask top-notch, but the moisture, shine, and bounce my hair gets afterward is exceptional. I don't usually define my coils, but I notice my hair consistently has a juicy, bouncy look, and the strands' integrity and 'recoil' are stronger. This product keeps my hair pliable, resilient, and moisturized for days after washing. It's in a class of its own!" —NaanaEsi

Here's more from my colleague Elizabeth Lilly:
"I have a very thick head of naturally curly hair and have put it through just about everything, including all kinds of hot tools, at-home dye kits, various shampoos and conditioners, pretty much every dry shampoo and hair oil out there, and just about anything else for a story for you, dear readers. A lot of products have either flat out failed, been meh enough that I wouldn't recommend, or been fantastic but too expensive to feel good recommending. Essentially, a lot of stuff ends up in the trash or passed to my (thankful) friends when it doesn't work for me. But THIS STUFF. This has become my go-to for spraying on wet hair before blow drying. Normally, I'd use a heat protector and an oil treatment or leave-in conditioner before blow drying. But this 10-in-1 treatment takes the crown! Most of the time, when I use it, I don't even need to follow up with hair oil (and I've been doing that as an essential step for years). It's that good! Here, I have freshly blow-dried hair using this Amika blow dryer brush. The brush is great by itself, but this spray treatment has doubled its effectiveness. My hair is softer, shinier, healthier, and it stays looking great for days — especially because I wash my hair about every four days. Time to unload the extra hair products to my friends."
Promising review: "I love this. I'm lazy with very long, thin hair. This is EVERYTHING. I spray and go. I always air dry, and this is fantastic. It smooths and enhances shine. ❤" —Michelle S.

I’ve tried every sea salt and wave spray, and this foam is the ONLY one that’s actually worked for my hair. And it’s fantastic! My hair has so much volume and waves! I’m almost getting curls! And they last until my next wash — even if it’s a few days later!" —sarahlibb

Promising review: "This is the product I’ve been looking for! My hair is fine with loose curls that tend to form ringlets at the ends. Before, I had to use several different products and a diffuser, but now I just use this and I get defined, bouncy curls that don’t frizz or droop. I also love that I can touch up my dry hair by mixing it with some leave-in conditioner. The scent is a bit grassy, but it fades quickly. It has simplified my routine and works better than any other product I’ve tried at any price." —Lolajean

31. K18's Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask is essential for anyone who frequently bleaches, colors, or uses heat styling tools. This four-minute miracle restores all types of damage and leaves you with smooth, silky hair like you just walked out of the salon.

Here’s a bit more from my BF Shopping colleague Melanie Aman:
"I bleach my dark brown-black Asian hair blonde every six to eight weeks, so when I first heard stylists at my salon raving about K18, I was immediately intrigued. And it turns out, the rest of the world loves it too, because it was sold out at Sephora the first time I tried to purchase it. I eventually managed to grab a tiny tester on Amazon and was absolutely amazed at how much softer my hair became. Seriously. I spent the whole day running my fingers through my hair, and even my boyfriend agreed that my hair was noticeably silkier.
Olaplex used to be my go-to before I tried K18, and I still stand by it, but I love that K18 is a leave-in treatment rather than an in-shower mask. Having to wait 10 minutes for Olaplex to work felt like an eternity, especially on days when I wasn’t taking a full shower (you know, the kind where you exfoliate and shave). With K18, you let it sit for just four minutes after your shower to activate, and then you can style your hair (or simply let it air dry, like I do).
I've found that my hair is softest the next day, so don’t be discouraged if your hair looks or feels the same right after using it. One final note: it is quite pricey, but a little goes a long way. The 5-mL tube I purchased has lasted about five washes, and eventually K18 can become a maintenance product, so you won’t need to use it every time you wash your hair."
Get it from Amazon or Sephora for $29+ (available in two sizes).
32. Curlsmith's Weightless Air Dry Cream has been called a "holy grail" by reviewers tackling postpartum hair loss, unruly frizz, varying curl patterns, and dry hair. If you're after a protein-free styling product, definitely give this one a try, bb!

Promising reviews: "As I've gotten older, my hair has become curlier (don't ask how!), and I’ve tried plenty of curl products. Some have worked, while others... not so much. But I absolutely love this leave-in curl cream because it enhances my 2c/3a curls, exactly what I was hoping for! It’s super easy to apply in the shower, doesn’t need a lot of product, and never leaves my hair crunchy, oily, or flaky." —Aura
"I lost track of this product for two days and had to use my old stuff again, but once I got back to it, I realized just how much of a game changer it is! I will NEVER go back to anything else. I don't even need gel anymore. This hydrates and defines my curls like no other product! My curls are healthy, shiny, bouncy, and best of all…ZERO FRIZZ. It's definitely worth the price. You need to get it, get it, get it!" —Mary
Get it from Ulta for $27 or Amazon for $26.99.
