"Green tea stands out as one of the most recognized drinks for combating inflammation,” notes nutrition specialist Ben Carvosso. Studies indicate that green tea can help lower inflammation, with research showing that regular consumption of green tea extract is linked to reduced levels of C-reactive proteins, key markers of inflammation.
To fully harness the benefits of green tea, it’s crucial to prepare it correctly. “Simply dipping a tea bag in hot water won’t release its beneficial compounds effectively,” explains Carvosso. “Letting the tea steep properly is key.” Along with proper steeping, Carvosso advises avoiding added sugar to minimize the risk of chronic inflammation.
