When news broke about twins born 87 days apart in Ireland, it seemed clear that the pair would soon make their mark in the Guinness World Records for 'Longest Interval Between Birth of Twins.' By April 30, a spokesperson for the iconic publication, Damian Field, confirmed that they were in contact with the twins' parents, Chris and Maria Jones-Elliot, and were awaiting confirmation before officially adding their record. Currently, the record is held by Peggy Lynn of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, whose children Hanna and Eric were born 84 days apart between 1995 and 1996.
It may sound like an unbelievable tale spun during a wild night, but stories like these are more common than you think. Check out our first list here, and then read on for 6 more astonishing (yet totally real) Guinness World Records.
1. Most garters removed with teeth in one minute: 26
We’d prefer if he kept his practice methods to himself. However, in 2008, Ivo Grosche demonstrated his impressive speed and coordination on the set of Germany's Guinness World Records: Die GroBten Weltrekorde by removing 26 garter belts using just his teeth in 60 seconds.

A daily fast food habit isn’t something most people brag about, but Donald Gorske from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, has become famous for his love of Big Macs. For over 42 years, he has made a daily pilgrimage to McDonald's for his sandwich of choice. His 23,000th Big Mac earned him a spot in the record books in 2008, and he hasn't slowed down since. By 2011, he'd consumed his 25,000th Big Mac, declaring, 'I plan on eating Big Macs until I die.' Even more astonishing is the fact that his cholesterol remains remarkably low.

Speed, flexibility, and a small enough body to squeeze into a suitcase are just a few of the skills needed for this record. In 2009, contortionist Leslie Tipton wowed a stunned studio audience on LIVE! with Regis & Kelly by contorting herself into a suitcase.
4. Loudest burp by a male: 109.9 dB

Here’s one that’s sure to make mom proud: Paul Hunn, a UK-based master of burping, set the record in 2009 for the world’s loudest male burp. The sound he produced measured somewhere between the roar of a motorcycle and a chainsaw on the decibel scale.
5. World’s oldest male stripper: 60
No, he’s not experiencing a midlife crisis. In 2000, Bernie Barker, a Las Vegas resident, left his real estate career behind to become the world’s oldest male stripper, aiming to regain his fitness after a battle with prostate cancer. Before his death in 2007, Barker had triumphed in over 40 competitive dance-offs, impressing with his graceful moves.

We highly doubt there was intense competition for this record. As of January 29, 2010, Niek Vermeulen from the Netherlands officially amassed the world’s largest collection of sick bags, totaling 6016, gathered from 1142 airlines across 160 countries over five decades.
