We've all experienced bad customer service at some point. Whether the cause is justified or not, it's always frustrating when a store runs out of exactly what you hurried over to get.
It’s also maddening when the line seems to be moving at a glacial pace or when the cashier looks completely clueless. Sure, we might shoot them a dirty look or two, but usually, we don’t escalate things to the point of, well, actually shooting.
However, the following list of fast-food patrons took things much further than most. They completely lost their composure—and their minds.
8. Man Has Meltdown Over No Ice Cream

As per the International Dairy Foods Association, the average American consumes 10 kilograms (23 lb) of ice cream annually. Popular choices include vanilla, chocolate, and cookies and cream.
Some people, like Jerry Henry, have an intense love for ice cream. In August 2017, Henry pulled up to the drive-through window at a McDonald’s and ordered some ice cream. When the employee told him the ice cream machine was broken, Henry responded in an unusual manner—by pulling out a gun.
The panicked drive-through worker immediately called 911 and ran to hide in the bathroom.
When the police arrived, they found that the gun was actually an AR-15 airsoft replica, looking almost identical to the real deal. They arrested Henry and charged him with improper display of a dangerous weapon or firearm.
Clearly, some individuals get more inventive when they’re angered by food-related issues. Trust us, it’s never a good idea to deliver disappointing news to someone with a slice of pizza in their hand. For more, check out 10 Crazy Times People Used Food As A Weapon.
7. Price Increases, Man Loses His Mind

In December 2013, a man drove up to the Taco Bell drive-through on Rigsby Road in San Antonio, Texas. He ordered seven Beefy Crunch Burritos, only to be told by the employee that the price had risen from $0.99 to $1.49 each. That’s when everything escalated from normal to completely out of control.
Furious about the price hike, the man shot an air gun at the manager while brandishing an assault rifle and a pistol. But his wild behavior didn’t stop there. When the police arrived, he aimed a weapon at them, forcing the officers to open fire. The man then sped away, with the police hot on his trail.
Manager Brian Tillerson recalled, “He aimed a gun at me, and pulled the trigger. I shifted to the side, and heard a pop, but nothing happened.”
The police tracked the burrito bandit to a hotel, where he barricaded himself in his room. SWAT negotiators were called in, leading to a tense three-hour standoff—all over a 50-cent price increase on a man’s cherished Beefy Crunch Burrito.
6. No Fried Mushrooms Leads To a Shooting

Imagine this: You head to a fast-food joint excited to dig into your favorite menu item, only to find out they’re completely out of it. Naturally, you're upset. They’ve always had it, but now, it’s just not available. Extremely frustrating.
Now picture this: You go to a fast-food place craving your favorite dish, only to be told it’s not even on the menu. A different situation entirely. While frustrating, you realize it’s your mistake—the item never existed on their menu. That’s on you, right?
You can’t say that to two men and a woman who visited Nicky D’s Coney Island fast-food joint in Detroit back in June 2019.
At 2:30 AM, the trio stopped by Nicky D’s and ordered fried mushrooms. They were told by an employee that fried mushrooms weren’t on the menu. The trio’s response was blunt: “What kind of [expletive] Coney doesn’t sell fried mushrooms?”
Frustrated, the group left Nicky D’s, but the situation didn’t end there.
About 20 minutes later, they returned and began assaulting customers with a nightstick. One of them then pulled out a gun and shot a customer in the face.
An employee couldn’t believe that a regular customer had been shot: “The guy didn’t do nothing. He comes here every day, doesn’t bother anyone, doesn’t say a word. He just orders a plain cheeseburger and leaves.”
A few days later, two 61-year-old twins were arrested. Fortunately, the customer who was shot in the face survived. He was said to be recovering from his injuries. 5. The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Incident

In the summer of 2019, Popeyes became a sensation with their chicken sandwich. By August 28, the company announced that due to overwhelming demand, they would be sold out by the end of the week. Customers were asked to be patient. Most complied, but Joshua Robicheaux did not.
On September 2, Joshua and his friends pulled up to a Popeyes drive-through in Houston and tried to order chicken sandwiches. They were informed the sandwich was sold out, and Robicheaux wasn’t happy about it.
Court documents reveal that after attempting to enter the lobby, Robicheaux allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened, “I’ll shoot this (expletive) up.”
The manager also mentioned to the police that she believed Robicheaux was under the influence. 4. Cold Fries, Hot Temper

In July 2019, a McDonald’s in Georgia apparently failed to keep their french fries hot—at least not to the liking of one Lillian Tarver.
Tarver was so enraged that she went back to the McDonald’s and demanded a resolution. When the manager went to the back to prepare her a fresh batch of fries, Tarver snapped. She stormed into the kitchen and began fighting with the employees.
One employee, Lynn Watson, recalled, “We were physically fighting because I had to grab her when she was putting up a fight, and I seized my moment. When she bent down, I grabbed her hair and started dragging her across the floor.”
Tarver left but returned later, armed. Watson recalled, “Then, we were in the back of the store. She came in like she was ready to shoot.”
Luckily, instead of firing at the employees, Tarver shot at the floor. The owner refunded her money, and she left. Tarver was arrested shortly afterward. 3. No Cutlery Causes Chaos

Apparently, cutlery holds significant importance in Georgia—at least it does for Jonelle Jade Dare, 33, from Marietta, Georgia.
In October 2019, Dare was in Kentucky and decided to stop by a local KFC drive-through. After receiving her meal, she pulled a gun and fired into the drive-through window. Witnesses reported that Dare was furious about not receiving a fork or a napkin. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Charlene Witt, the manager of a Subway located right across from the KFC, was stunned when she learned about the incident. Witt shared, “I had a regular customer come in and say, ‘Did you hear about what just happened at KFC?’ I said, ‘No.’ He replied, ‘Someone just shot the window out over here.’”
Luckily, police apprehended Dare shortly afterward. The weapon matching the description of the one used in the incident was also recovered. It's hard to believe someone would get so enraged over a missing napkin. We can only imagine how Dare would have reacted if she had found one of the 10 Most Horrifying Things Ever Discovered In Fast Food in her meal.
2. Not Fast Enough Food

Drive-through windows are meant for customers in a hurry. These are the people who need to get somewhere quickly, with no time to park, get out of their cars, and go inside to order.
But sometimes, the drive-through lines are slow, and you just have to practice a little patience.
That wasn’t the case for Marquenta Glidwell. In the middle of 2019, she became furious and relentlessly honked her horn. So much so, that the manager at McDonald’s had to tell her to calm down. But Glidwell wasn’t calming down.
Leaving her car, she went up to the drive-through window and struck the manager with her credit card. Then, she used a stun gun on him. McDonald’s manager Jacob Jordan described the shocking and terrifying assault: “At first, we thought it was just scratch marks from her fingers, but when you watch the video, you can clearly see her trying to push the taser into my throat.”
But it didn’t end there. Jordan continued, “She grabbed my hair, pulled me out of the window, tasered me, tried to choke me, punched me in the face, punched me in the eyes. She just kept hitting me.”
Glidwell later accused Jordan of voting for President Donald Trump, even though Jordan was too young to vote when Trump was elected. She also reportedly made homophobic comments, as Jordan is gay.
The enraged customer ended up in jail, with a $10,000 bond. Fortunately, all the McDonald’s staff and customers were unharmed. This hasn’t always been the case, as you’ll read in 5 Gruesome McDonald’s Murders.
1. Late Nights Lead to Unhinged Moments

Being out late at night and hungry can really test your patience. When food is hard to come by, it’s easy to get frustrated and a little crazy.
That’s likely what happened to 21-year-old Kenneth Reese from Texas. At 1:00 AM, he and a female companion tried to grab some Taco Bell before the restaurant shut down. Unfortunately, they were a bit too late.
Things went from bad to worse when Reese allegedly made a remark about “shooting up the place.” As if that wasn’t enough, as he and his companion were leaving, he pointed a gun at an employee.
Fortunately, no shots were fired, and Reese was quickly apprehended. He faced charges for aggravated assault and driving under the influence. However, things didn’t need to escalate this far for Reese. He could have taken a page from the book of these 10 People Who Did Great Things While Intoxicated.
