Before proceeding, it's essential to clarify that the following assertions largely exist on the fringes of conspiracy theories. These claims, often dismissed as absurd by many, center around the idea that the United States is still under the control of Britain, or more specifically, The Crown. This notion dates back to a group formed in the 17th century, known as The Virginia Company.
How you interpret these claims is up to you, though they are likely far removed from the truth. Nevertheless, the thought process and the way in which the connections are made offer a fascinating perspective on the matter.
8. The Mysterious 1604 Meeting in Greenwich, London

A good starting point for investigating these claims is to look at The Virginia Company, particularly a mysterious meeting that reportedly took place in Greenwich, London, in 1604. The discussions reportedly centered on the untapped potential of what we now know as the United States, or more specifically, how the elites of the United Kingdom could benefit. Similar discussions were happening throughout Europe, as well as among secret societies that were the precursors to the Freemasons.
According to the claims, one of the individuals present at this secret meeting was none other than King James I, who, interestingly, held the largest stake in the venture. This investment would significantly expand the king's influence, especially as they began seizing land to extract resources from the New World. The ultimate goal was to bolster the wealth and power of The Crown. However, contrary to popular belief, this is not a reference to the Royal Family (we will discuss this further in the next section).
If we are to believe the claims, the outcome of the meeting led to the formation of The Virginia Company. This group would embark on two separate expeditions to the promising lands of the New World. One would land in what is now known as Jamestown in 1607, named in honor of King James I. The other would arrive at Cape Cod in 1620. Both groups would immediately lay claim to the land they 'discovered'.
7. The Crown – What Exactly Is It?

When most people think of The Crown, they likely associate it with the British Royal Family. However, in this context, it refers to The Crown at Temple Bar, located in the City of London. This area is home to numerous lawmakers and bankers. Those who believe in a global conspiracy of elite powers controlling everything argue that The Crown serves as one of the central hubs of this operation.
In the early 1600s, one of The Crown's primary concerns was the growing influence of the Spanish Empire. Many territories in South America had already fallen under Spanish control, leading to the spread of the Spanish language. Perhaps more alarming to England's elites at the time was the increasing spread of Catholicism. A decision was made to act quickly and claim the northern territories, to prevent the Spanish from challenging The Crown's influence and the profits they could gain.
6. The City of London – A Law Unto Itself?

Similar to the District of Columbia, which we will explore shortly, the City of London operates independently, governed by its own laws. Nestled in the heart of London, it spans just one square mile. Since the time of William the Conqueror, the City negotiated its own legal autonomy and freedoms, establishing itself as a sovereign entity since 1067. This unique status has persisted to this day, having been solidified through a system of 'debt-financing'. This is arguably one of the earliest instances of the modern banking system's origins.
The situation is quite similar in the District of Columbia, where the epicenter of the American banking system—the Federal Reserve—also operates under its own set of rules. Like the City of London, it functions as an independent entity, separate from the rest of the country.
The history of America’s formative years becomes even more intriguing as we delve deeper. Many of the Founding Fathers, for instance, were not only Freemasons but also legal advisors to The Crown. Their roles in the emerging United States were strategic, ensuring that decisions regarding land, resources, and taxes were swayed in their favor.
5. The Act of 1871 – A Central Element to the Entire Conspiracy

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Virginia Company and its alleged control over the United States centers around the Act of 1871. According to certain claims, the true purpose of the Act was to establish two distinct entities: one being the nation (the United States of America), and the other a corporate entity (the United States). The corporate entity was located in the District of Columbia, a region governed by its own set of laws and operating independently. This is what we know as the Federal Government, which stands apart from the United States itself.
The conventional history suggests that the Virginia Company’s hold on the United States came to an end after the War of Independence, severing ties with British rule and leading the company into bankruptcy. However, with the passage of the Act of 1871, private bankers and companies began operating within the District of Columbia. They profited substantially from the United States' financial debt, primarily because the nation was forced to borrow from the Federal Reserve, as it continues to do to this day.
As time passed, doubts about this arrangement grew. Numerous researchers even raised the possibility that the Federal Reserve is merely the Virginia Company rebranded. If this is indeed the case, it would mean that the United States of America remains under the indirect control of the British, primarily because of the immense financial debt it continues to owe to the Federal Reserve.
4. The Maritime Law Claims

One of the most unusual claims connected to the Virginia Company involves the application of Maritime Law in the United States. If these claims hold any validity, the functioning of the United States courts might be far different than what is generally understood.
Officially, the court system in the United States follows common law, also known as the Law of the Land. However, because the District of Columbia is home to the (private) Federal Government, it operates under a different set of rules: Maritime Law. This is often referred to as Admiralty Law, which, in essence, governs the seas.
For those who subscribe to these theories, it is argued that the federal court systems, when dealing with federal cases, function under Maritime Law. This, they claim, places these cases outside the realm of the American legal system, operating instead under a structure reminiscent of British rule.
Of course, it's important to note that many people vehemently reject these claims. In fact, most dismiss them as a mix of half-truths and outright fabrications.
3. The Words Of George Bush

Though the meaning behind the quote is still widely debated, a statement commonly attributed to George Bush Sr. remains fascinating. It is often interpreted as a subtle acknowledgment of the significant influence held by a select few over the vast majority of the global population.
According to reports, Bush allegedly remarked, 'If the American people knew what we had done, they would hang us from the lamp posts.'
Could this be a reference to the matters we've discussed here? After all, such a statement could easily be connected to a variety of twentieth-century events, from oil scandals to the assassination of JFK, or even the numerous controversies during the Reagan administration.
Was this the meaning behind Bush Sr.'s words, that they would face severe repercussions if the public knew the full truth? It certainly presents a thought-provoking scenario, with little room for doubt.
2. Intriguing Clues In The Names

Interwoven with these theories involving secret societies and ancestral bloodlines are fascinating clues, many of which some researchers claim are hidden in plain sight, for anyone willing to look.
Once again, we turn to the District of Columbia and its possible hidden origins tied to Babylon. For example, one of Babylon’s key deities was Queen Semiramis, who was also known as Venus Columba. A closer look at the similarity between 'Columba' and 'Columbia' raises the intriguing question: could the District of Columbia actually be the District of Columba? In such a case, it would mean it is the District of Venus Columba, or Queen Semiramis of Babylon.
This is just one clue among many that supporters of the theory of secret world control – including the United States – believe bolsters their case. While most would dismiss such conspiracies as highly unlikely, there remains that small part of us that can't help but wonder, just a little, whether they might hold some truth.
1. Ties To Ancient Bloodlines And Secret Societies

Numerous theories suggest a ruling elite bloodline dating back to ancient times, which ties in with the Founding Fathers and their connections to the British Crown. Furthermore, these connections extend into the royal and aristocratic families of Europe. Taking this idea further, many of these same bloodlines trace their origins to ancient civilizations, such as those of Rome, Egypt, and even Sumer.
Another point of interest is the claim that over 40 U.S. Presidents are linked to these ancient bloodlines.
It’s easy to understand why the concept of a powerful elite controlling the world's resources resonates with some researchers. If this theory holds true, The Virginia Company represents just one aspect of that larger, all-encompassing control.
