Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things is known for her sharp tongue and impressive shooting skills, but a recent Reddit theory suggests her character might meet an untimely end.
Reddit user aagaash2001 shared a theory about Nancy (played by Natalia Dyer), responding to rumors that her boyfriend, Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), might not survive the upcoming season.
Aagaash2001 commented, “While many believe Jonathan could be the one to die in Season 4, I’ve started to think Nancy might be the one to go. Her death could significantly impact Jonathan, Steve (Joe Keery), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and her mother (Cara Buono), driving their character development forward.”
The Reddit user further explains that Nancy’s demise could bring Max (Sadie Sink) and Mike closer, allowing them to connect over their shared grief. This move would also raise the stakes for the popular Netflix series, keeping it fresh and engaging. The user adds:
“While Billy and Bob were killed off, they weren’t part of the original Season 1 cast (though Bob definitely deserved better). And while Hopper was presumed dead, no body was shown, leaving his fate uncertain. It’s time to say goodbye to a beloved Season 1 character, and sadly, Nancy seems the most likely candidate, especially given her reduced role in the second season.”
While not all fans may agree with this theory, it’s clear that another emotional loss is on the horizon for the upcoming season.
