Lucid Mattress has recalled approximately 138,000 Platform Beds featuring Upholstered Square Tufted Headboards, imported by CVB from Utah. These beds may “sag, break, or collapse while in use,” posing “fall and injury hazards to consumers.”
LucidAs per the company’s recall notice, the affected bed models were manufactured between 2019 and 2021, with prices ranging from $150 to $250.
These beds were sold across various retailers in both the U.S. and Canada between September 2019 and April 2024. Retailers included Amazon.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, Belk.com, Brookside, eBay, Home Depot, JC Penney, Lowes.com, Lucid, Macy's, Menards, Overstock, QVC, Sears.com, Target.com, Malouf VIP, Walmart, and Wayfair.
According to the recall notice, “Lucid Platform Beds with an upholstered square tufted headboard in sizes Twin, Full, Queen, King, and Cal-King” are part of the recall. The beds were available in colors like beige, black, charcoal, cobalt, pearl, and stone, featuring wooden support beams and legs.
The recalled beds are marked with a white federal law label that reads “Made For CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321.” This label can be found on the back of the bed’s headboard.
The company has received 245 reports of the beds breaking, sagging, or collapsing while in use. These defects have led to 18 injuries, including contusions and bruises, as stated in Lucid's recall notice.
Consumers who bought the recalled beds should stop using them immediately. A free replacement is available to those affected by this recall. To claim the replacement, Lucid’s website instructions state that “Consumers must mark 'recalled' on the bed’s support rails with a permanent marker and submit a photo of the bed, along with a picture of the support rails on the underside or the law label, to [email protected].”
