Do you know the process of installing a wall-mounted oven?
Creatas/ThinkstockWall ovens are typically designed to fit within specific cabinet dimensions. It’s essential to measure the cabinet opening and ensure it aligns with the oven's dimensions as specified in the manual. In some cases, you may need to adjust the opening size [source: Frigidaire].

Here’s a guide to installing a wall oven:
- Switch off the circuit breaker that powers the oven. For extra safety, apply some tape over the breaker to avoid accidental activation.
- Remove the doors from the old oven.
- Unscrew the anchoring screws and carefully remove the oven from its cabinet. You might need assistance for this step.
- Disconnect the electrical wires from the old oven.
- Locate the electrical junction box behind the cabinet. If it's inside the wall, you may need to cut through the drywall to access it.
- Measure the cabinet opening and compare it with the dimensions required for the new oven as listed in the manual. If the opening is too small, divide the difference by two and cut the required amount from both sides.
- Position the new oven near the cabinet so the armored cable can reach the electrical junction box.
- Attach a right-angle clamp to the cable.
- Connect each house wire to the corresponding wire from the oven cable. Secure the connection with a wire nut.
- Neatly fold the connected wires into the junction box, replace the cover, and secure the right-angle cable bracket to the cover. If you had to cut the wall to access the box, make sure to seal the opening properly.
- Lift and slide the new oven into place within the cabinet (you’ll need help for this) and secure it with screws.
- Reattach the oven doors and any additional trim pieces provided.
- Turn the circuit breaker back on [source: Ron Hazelton's House Calls].
