My team and I have covered numerous tools, from those that enhance screenshot capabilities to upgrading screen recording features, and even some quirky apps designed to brighten your day. While I enjoy exploring these apps regularly, I understand how it can feel overwhelming for others.
For those who prefer a single, all-encompassing app, Almighty is a must-try. It packs over 50 unique tweaks and utilities—ranging from an emoji selector to an image-to-text converter—all within one platform. The app offers a seven-day free trial, and if it suits your needs, you can purchase it directly from the developer's site for $20. Alternatively, it’s available on the Mac App Store for $16, though some features are restricted due to Apple's policies.
How to Begin Using Almighty
Before diving into the utilities, spend a moment exploring the app's interface and functionality. The home screen may appear cluttered as it groups all tools together, which can be overwhelming for some users. Personally, I prefer organizing utilities into folders for better clarity.
Thankfully, Almighty caters to users like us with its left pane, which offers various sorting options. Begin with the Popular tab to discover the most frequently used tools—some of which you might find particularly useful. The app also categorizes tools by functionality, such as the Display section, which focuses on screen-related tweaks. Additionally, you can create custom folders to arrange tools according to your preferences. By default, Almighty includes a Favorite folder for bookmarking preferred tools, but you can also visit the Settings and access the Workflow tab to add more folders.
I strongly suggest setting up keyboard shortcuts for your most-used tools. Almighty allows you to assign shortcuts to every utility. Simply navigate to a tool's page, click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner, and access the Configure menu to set up your shortcut. With these tips covered, let’s explore some of Almighty’s standout utilities.
Extract text from images
This functionality is powered by Almighty’s Extract Text tool, located in the Utility section. Activate it to transform your cursor into a crosshair. Click and drag over an image or video to highlight text, and Extract Text will instantly copy it to your clipboard, ready to be pasted anywhere.
Emphasize the active window
When multiple windows are open, staying focused can be challenging. Almighty’s Highlight Active Window feature solves this by automatically dimming all background windows, ensuring your attention remains on the foreground window.
Enable middle-click functionality on your Mac
While there are other apps that enable middle-click on Mac, Almighty simplifies this with its built-in Middle Click tool, located in the Mouse section. Similar to other solutions, it allows you to middle-click by tapping the trackpad or Magic Mouse with three fingers. This feature is perfect for opening links in background browser tabs effortlessly.
Clear your clipboard instantly with a single click
At some point, everyone has copied sensitive information like passwords or credit card details. Prevent your Mac from entering sleep mode
While apps like Amphetamine allow you to prevent your Mac from sleeping, Almighty simplifies this with its Keep Mac Awake feature. Unlike Amphetamine’s extensive customization, Keep Mac Awake offers a straightforward toggle to stop sleep mode, which you can disable when no longer needed.
Add a Quit option to the Finder menu
Finder on your Mac doesn’t include a straightforward quit option in its menu. Almighty solves this by adding a Quit button to Finder through its Add a Quit Option feature.
Enhance window snapping on your Mac
While macOS Sequoia is introducing better window management, Almighty already offers a robust solution with its Snap Windows tool. This feature provides intuitive window snapping by displaying a preview grid when moving app windows. Drop a window into any grid section, and it will automatically resize and position itself. Dragging it to the center maximizes the window.
