Photo: The Chosunilbo JNS/Getty ImagesBlonde is the color trend for this fall, and BlackPink’s Jennie Kim has embraced it with a stunning 'butter blonde' look during Paris Fashion Week.
Kim is known for making bold fashion statements. From goth balletcore outfits to extravagant pigtails, she has always stood out. This time, she arrived at Chanel's Spring/Summer 2025 show sporting a sleek, long platinum blonde hairstyle—an exciting departure from her usual brunette locks.
According to Edson Ibarra, celebrity hairstylist and OVERTONE colorist, 'Jennie's new hair is a subtle pale blonde. This soft tone stands apart from the warmer golden hues, merging the cool elements of beige and platinum seamlessly.'
Jennie isn't the only one embracing blonde hues for fall. Kendall Jenner has recently showcased a 'rich-girl' blonde lob inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, while Hailey Bieber shared a bright caramel shade on Instagram, captioning her selfie, 'light for fall.' Looks like we're all in need of a bleach and tone session soon.

What to request from your stylist at the salon:
To achieve that flawless 'it-girl' blonde, Ibarra suggests asking for an all-over bleach to get as close to platinum as possible. However, be aware that it may take a few sessions, depending on your natural hair color, as the process can be lengthy.
After bleaching, Ibarra recommends using a neutral toner to 'cut any brassiness' and cool the blonde, ensuring it maintains the pale yellow butter shade. However, he cautions against leaving the toner on for too long to prevent the blonde from becoming too icy.
How to Style at Home:
To keep your blonde looking fresh and vibrant, use a sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo formulated for blonde hair. This will help preserve the color and prevent dryness and fading.
Be mindful of how often you use hot tools, as they can cause damage and dryness after bleaching. Ibarra advises keeping styling tools at a low temperature and always using a heat protectant product to minimize damage and prevent color fading.
