Your ability to move—whether it's flexibility, strength, or pain endurance—is directly linked to your vision. This easy exercise can help you strengthen your eye muscles and improve your movement simultaneously.
This video comes from Max Shank, a coach, author, and founder of Ambition Athletics in Encinitas, CA (the same person who taught us how to correct our computer posture). In the video, Max shows how to throw a tennis ball with letters on it at a wall and call out the letter facing you before catching the ball.
He says:
Being able to read an eye chart isn’t the full story. You must also strengthen the muscles inside and around your eyes. The letter ball, demonstrated in the video above, is a great way to work both. The inner muscles assist with adjusting near and far vision, while the outer muscles help your eyes track the ball from various angles.
How would you rate your hand-eye coordination?
