The FDA has issued a recall for various dry dog food brands that contain vitamin D levels up to 70 times higher than what is safe. Excessive vitamin D intake can cause organ failure and even death. Be sure to check the labels and monitor your pets for signs of poisoning.

If you suspect your pet has fallen ill due to this dog food, reach out to your veterinarian and take a photo of the food label, including the lot number. You or your vet can report the illness to the FDA via the Safety Reporting Portal or contact the local FDA consumer complaint coordinator.
