After enduring a lengthy winter—particularly for families with children—everyone at home is likely eager to enjoy the outdoors. If your family embraced gardening last spring while staying indoors, you might be searching for fresh ideas. A survey by Cinch Home Services revealed that 54% of homeowners plan to enhance their properties in 2021, with 35% focusing on backyard upgrades.
This spring, Lowe’s aims to capitalize on the growing desire to spend more time outside. “Spring feels especially symbolic this year, representing both a literal and figurative emergence from winter,” shared Marisa Thalberg, Lowe’s executive vice president and chief brand and marketing officer, in a USA TODAY interview. “We’re already noticing a rapid increase in interest as warmer weather spreads across the country.”
To attract both new and returning customers—whether in-store or curbside—Lowe’s is offering a unique gardening kit each week in April. Here’s how you can secure one (or all four).
How to Secure a Gardening Kit
This promotion requires some advance planning—which is why we’re sharing the details early. You can’t simply walk into a Lowe’s and pick up a free gardening kit; registration is required. Sign-ups for the weekly kit (via Lowes.com) open one week prior to each giveaway. For instance, the first kit will be available on April 8th, with registration starting on April 1st.
Below is the weekly schedule of what’s available in April:
April 8: Recipes from chef and food stylist Amanda Frederickson
April 15: “Mystery Garden Piñata” containing surprise seed packets
April 22: Free tree saplings in honor of Earth Day
April 29: Materials to build a butterfly garden
This is a “while supplies last” offer, so if you’re interested in one (or all) of these free items, it’s wise to register early. The best part? You won’t need to enter the store—the complimentary Garden-to-Go kits will be ready for curbside pickup.
