Heat up the oven.
Set your oven to 350°F. The oven’s heat is key to quickly and effectively cleaning your muffin pans.
Prepare a baking soda and water solution.
Combine two tablespoons of baking soda with a pitcher of hot water, stirring until fully dissolved.
Carefully transfer the mixture into the muffin pan.
Distribute the mixture evenly into the muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full.
Place the pan in the oven to bake.
Allow the muffins to bake for approximately 20 minutes. This will assist in removing any food that has become stuck.
Use a sponge to scrub the surface of the pan.
Let the muffin pan cool down enough to handle, but keep it warm. Over the sink, use a scrubber sponge and dish soap to scrub the pan (test the sponge on the bottom first to ensure it won’t scratch the surface). The heat and steam from the oven should have loosened any stuck food, so they should come off easily.
Scrape the pan.
To remove any remaining baked-on residue on the pan’s surface, grab a strong pan scraper. Paired with hot, soapy water, it will quickly take care of even the toughest, burnt-on bits.
Rinse and Dry.
Rinse the pan thoroughly and dry it completely before putting it back in your kitchen cabinet for storage.
