In a recent discussion on grill hacking techniques, Mytour user torchbearer2 introduced the Kettle Pizza—a clever tool that transforms your grill into a pizza oven. At $150, though, it's on the pricier side. You can create your own version for only about $20.
YouTube creator madbare demonstrates how to turn inexpensive steel flashing—available at home improvement stores—into a replica of the Kettle Pizza. While you won't see him assembling the device in real-time, the process is straightforward. He used a plasma cutter for the hole in the center, but a jigsaw will work just as well.
In the video comments, he mentions:
It worked perfectly, reaching temperatures of 600F at the stone and nearly 900F in the dome. Overall, I’d say it performed wonderfully. I did add a few more bolts to secure the stone and included a few 1/8 sheet metal screws around the top for extra support.
Make this the Summer of Grilled Pizza.
