After Costco stopped accepting American Express in favor of Visa, many members voiced their discontent. Meanwhile, Sam's Club has capitalized on this frustration by offering free shopping for Costco members until July 4th.
It may seem like a bold move, but you’ve got to admire the strategy! I came across this promotion over at Rather Be Shopping, where writer Kyle James discusses the details:
Hats off to Sam’s Club’s marketing team for this clever tactic. With Costco’s switch from American Express to Visa, many members are upset for various reasons, and some are even considering canceling their memberships.
To capitalize on this backlash, Sam’s Club is offering Costco members free access until July 4th, in an effort to lure new customers away from its competitor.
And yes, all major credit cards are accepted.
