If you're tired of the classic snowman, consider constructing an ice tower for a unique and enjoyable weekend activity.
In his video, James Gurney explains the process of crafting these ice towers. The method involves using a heavy-duty bucket, filling it with water, and letting it freeze. Ideal conditions include extremely cold temperatures.
To remove the ice block from the bucket, warm water can be used to melt the outer layer, allowing the block to slide out. Another technique is to let the bucket freeze partially, starting from the outside, and then pour out the remaining liquid inside. This creates a hollow shell, perfect for covering a candle or light source, or even transforming it into a unique ice helmet, as demonstrated by the artist.
For added creativity, incorporate food coloring to design layered patterns within the ice block.
