The start of a new year brings endless possibilities, especially for giving your home a makeover. If your bedroom is feeling a bit lackluster, one effective way to change the vibe is by applying a fresh coat of paint. With so many choices, however, selecting the right color can be overwhelming.
Drawing inspiration from design trends can offer some clarity. According to interior designer Regan Billingsley, this year’s trends are expected to focus on infusing personality into spaces through the combination of shapes and colors. 'Paint colors will play a significant role in setting the mood for these layered designs—whether through warm shades, cool tones, or a mix of both,' she explains.
Wondering how to choose the perfect shade? We reached out to designers to gather their predictions for the upcoming year. Here are the top bedroom paint colors for 2025, according to the experts.

Farrow & Ball Stone Blue
2025 is all about adding a touch of luxury, which is why interior designer Samantha Lund suggests Stone Blue. 'The leading bedroom colors for 2025 are designed to create spaces that are both luxurious and personal, while remaining calming,' she shares. 'Farrow & Ball’s Stone Blue, a soft and timeless dusty blue, is ideal for cultivating a peaceful yet uplifting atmosphere in any bedroom.'
This hue works wonderfully in both traditional and contemporary settings, and it’s particularly stunning in a home office that could use a pop of color.

Farrow & Ball Brinjal
Lund also points to Brinjal, a rich and dramatic plum shade, as one of this year’s standout colors. 'It brings warmth and a touch of boldness for those who want their space to feel luxurious and striking, yet not overwhelming,' she explains.
This shade also serves as a great alternative to burgundy, which is on-trend for 2025 but might be a bit too dark for bedrooms, yet it evokes a similar mood.

Farrow & Ball Cola
Pantone’s Color of the Year is the much-hyped Mocha Mousse, and although Cola isn’t exactly the same shade, this warm brown tone is described by Lund as grounded and inviting. 'It’s perfect for pairing with natural textures,' she says. 'These colors strike a perfect balance of elegance and comfort in a way that feels both fresh and timeless, which is exactly what we’re seeking for our homes right now.'
This rich shade is an excellent choice for giving a smaller guest room a touch of elegance, especially when paired with crisp white linens for contrast.

Benjamin Moore Chocolate Mousse is a stunning and inviting color choice.
For those who prefer a lighter tone, Chocolate Mousse by Benjamin Moore is a perfect pick. Interior designer Audrey Frances Coty explains, “It captures everything a bedroom should have: luxury and relaxation. It’s a plush hue that creates a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Pair it with espresso accents and creamy whites for a refined, multidimensional ambiance that feels truly sophisticated.”
This taupe hue pairs wonderfully with almost any bedroom furniture. If you’re planning a major bedroom makeover and want to begin with the paint, Chocolate Mousse is an excellent choice.

Benjamin Moore Prescott Green is a lovely, nature-inspired tone.
Coty also shows great enthusiasm for Prescott Green, noting that it brings the outdoors in with its soft, earthy feel. She explains, “Earthy tones are leading the design trends right now. With technology taking the forefront in home decor, people are seeking more organic, natural elements in their spaces.”
The designer is particularly drawn to this color because of its complex nature. “With hints of blue and gray, this powdery hue introduces just the right amount of vibrancy while still creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere for bedrooms.”

Sherwin-Williams Tranquil Aqua is a serene and soothing color choice.
According to Coty, “Sherwin-Williams’s Tranquil Aqua creates a cool and welcoming bedroom. This oceanic blue, with its underlying gray tones, makes for a deep yet understated color.”
Love this color but unsure how to incorporate it into your bedroom? The designer recommends combining soft mochas and crisp whites for a layered effect. “The richness of this shade brings a calming atmosphere, making it the ideal choice for a relaxing retreat.”

Sherwin-Williams Rocky River is a rich and grounded color option.
Billingsley shares that Rocky River by Sherwin-Williams, with its delicate blue-gray undertones, is set to be a popular choice this year. “It strikes a balance between sophistication and tranquility,” she says. “It pairs beautifully with a moody blue palette and stands strong against jewel-toned or earth-toned accents.”

Benjamin Moore Briarwood is an elegant, neutral tone that brings subtle warmth to any space.
Looking for a bedroom color that suits any room size? Billingsley believes Briarwood is a foolproof choice. “This sophisticated neutral, with its blend of gray and brown, adds depth and character while fitting perfectly in any setting,” she says. “It offers a refined, welcoming backdrop that complements any décor effortlessly.”

Little Greene Clay No. 39 is an elegant hue that adds sophistication to any room.
For those with smaller bedrooms or guest rooms looking to make a statement, Clay No. 39 from Little Greene is a fantastic choice. "This warm, earthy neutral has soft ochre undertones, embodying one of the most popular color trends for the upcoming year," Billingsley notes. "It complements layered earth tones beautifully for a rich depth or can be harmonized with cooler accents, making it a perfect pick for a chic and cozy bedroom."
