Amazon's recent acquisition of Whole Foods is offering even greater rewards for Prime members, now giving them a five percent cash back on grocery purchases with the Amazon Prime Rewards credit card.
The Amazon card is already a rewarding option, especially for regular shoppers at Amazon. It gives five percent back on Amazon Prime purchases, two percent at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores, and one percent on all other purchases. (Full disclosure: I use the Amazon credit card for my Amazon buys.)
This no-fee card also comes with a competitive APR ranging from 15.24 percent to 23.24 percent, which is lower than most store cards (though keep in mind the $99 annual fee for Prime).
If you don't have a Prime subscription but still hold the Amazon Prime Rewards card, you'll earn three percent back. To check if you're eligible, go to 'Manage Payment Option' in your account settings and expand the Amazon Rewards card details.
This new update follows Amazon's recent announcement that it will be offering Whole Foods groceries as part of its free, two-hour Prime Now delivery service in Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas, and Virginia Beach.
