Web/iOS/Android: Recently, Amazon changed its price drop policy, reducing the effectiveness of some popular automatic price drop apps. However, Earny has found a workaround by introducing a feature that automates price drop refunds through credit card issuers instead.
At the moment, the feature is available only for Citibank and Chase cardholders. If you make a purchase with one of these cards and the price drops, Earny will automatically submit a claim for a refund. To use this service, you need to link your email, credit cards, and Amazon account. Earny only accesses your email to search for receipts, and your credentials are never stored. Their privacy policy doesn’t specify much about security measures, but in an email, founder Oded Vakrat shared with us:
We use OAuth2 authentication for these providers, which means we only access a token provided by Google or Microsoft. If you use a different email provider, your credentials are encrypted with AES-256. Our cryptographic keys are stored in a highly secure vault, protected by FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated HSM (Hardware Security Module) encryption.
Vakrat also mentioned that the same encryption methods are applied to credit card information.
If the tool successfully processes your price drop refund, you'll receive an email notification, and the refund will appear on your credit card statement. To give it a try, click the link below.
