In anticipation of the new year, Yelp has unveiled its 2025 Home, Beauty, and Wellness Trend Report, offering a sneak peek into the trends poised for a resurgence. From framed scrapbooks to hybrid social spaces and no-phone zones, these trends are set to shape 2025.
“We analyzed millions of Yelp searches for keywords, phrases, and businesses across various categories that experienced notable growth between 2023 and 2024,” the report states. Additionally, Yelp's trend specialist, Tara Lewis, shares insights on how to incorporate these trends into your life in 2025.
1. Retro ‘70s Conversation Pits
During the 1970s, homeowners incorporated unique architectural features into their homes to foster close-knit social interactions. By 2025, the iconic '70s sunken living rooms, often referred to as “conversation pits,” are expected to return in style. This revival aligns with the growing popularity of mid-century modern design. “Mid-century furniture remains a timeless favorite, surging in demand (up 319%), with curved pieces (up 124%) adding elegance and personality to interiors,” according to the Yelp report.
2. Wall Art Inspired by Scrapbooking

Scrapbooks often feel like treasured time capsules, and Yelp users have discovered a creative way to celebrate these memories by transforming them into wall art. “Yelp users are crafting unique shadowboxes (up 34%) to showcase film photos—with searches for film labs increasing by 88% and film development by 54%—alongside travel souvenirs and keepsakes from meaningful events,” Yelp notes. Transform your photos into an artistic display that evokes your most joyful memories.
3. Handcrafted Colors and Textures

In 2025, artisanal design trends—such as textured walls, eco-friendly fabrics, and vibrant hues—will dominate the scene. “Whether you prefer a minimalist look or a striking feature wall, these wall treatments provide flexible and sophisticated choices to suit your style,” Yelp explains. These handcrafted designs are set to become a “go-to option for infusing distinct character and sensory appeal into any living space.”
4. Phone-Free Spaces
In a world dominated by social media, the concept of disconnecting has gained traction—and no-phone zones are leading the charge. “Acting as modern-day speakeasies, social clubs (up 39%), book clubs (up 26%), chess clubs (up 47%), and even local running groups (up 82%) are redefining social gatherings by emphasizing in-person connections over digital distractions,” Yelp states. Making a no-phone zone part of your New Year’s resolutions could be a refreshing change.
5. Blended Social Spaces
Hybrid hangouts are precisely as described: spaces where you can enjoy time with friends while multitasking. “Businesses that combine daily tasks with dining and relaxation are emerging as popular destinations,” Yelp notes. “Enjoy a matcha latte while doing laundry or grab a burger while refueling.” Explore your local area, and you might stumble upon unique spots like book club bars, beer spas, or bookstore-plant shop hybrids.
6. Mood-Enhancing Hobbies

“As individuals seek to stay mentally engaged and inject joy into their daily routines, they are creating dopamine menus—collections of hobbies and activities proven to elevate mood and enhance well-being, as supported by research,” Yelp explains. Whether it’s crafting jewelry, sewing, painting, or dancing, embrace your most creative interests in the year ahead.
7. Adult Summer Camps

Do you recall the joy of summer camp? It turns out, adults can relive that experience too. “More and more adults are pursuing retreats focused on relaxation, rejuvenation, and building meaningful connections,” Yelp states. “Searches for adult camps—combining nostalgic childhood vibes with adult-friendly amenities—have skyrocketed by 347% on Yelp.” This trend highlights that summer camp adventures aren’t just for children anymore.
