What better way to channel your creativity and playful spirit than through your interior design? Below are images of 10 quirky, unusual places that have (or had) residents who, likely, adored them. They might not suit everyone’s style, but they certainly provide captivating visuals!
10. House of Sarcasm

It comes as no surprise that this eccentric abode is located in Portland. Dubbed the 'House of Sarcasm,' it’s truly a one-of-a-kind dwelling. The owners, Charles and Mrs. Claringbold, are psychic artists who also offer their home for rent on AirBnb.
9. Casa Neverlandia, Austin

Casa Neverlandia, owned by a hippie couple, draws inspiration from vision quests and various unique aspects of their lifestyle. James Talbot, the owner, previously ran a business constructing children's playgrounds, and elements of his career are reflected in the design of his home.
8. Nylo Hotel, Warwick Rhode Island

This is probably the least extraordinary property on the list, and it's actually a hotel rather than a home, so once the novelty wears off, you can simply check out. The hotel is part of the Hilton Tapestry collection, which includes 3-4 star hotels.
7. Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Home

Gaultier has a deep affection for Breton Stripes, which he has used in many of his clothing designs and even his men's perfume bottles. He loves them so much that his minimalist home is decorated with them. While Breton stripes look great on a runway model, I'm not sure they'd be as charming in a room—imagine dealing with that sight while nursing a hangover!
6. Snow White’s House, Washington

This one is so peculiar that we had to include an exterior shot as well. Recently on the market, this fairy-tale-inspired house would surely make for a charming spot to raise children. Not only do they get to live in a storybook home, but there are no sharp edges to worry about either!
5. Steampunk New York

What happens when you combine retro aesthetics with futuristic design? Steampunk! This New York loft is fully decked out in a steampunk style. While the design is undeniably cool, the novelty might fade quickly once cleaning day rolls around.
4. Nautilus House, Mexico

Designed by Javier Senosiain and inspired by the shape of a nautilus shell, this house is a truly striking and unique creation. It would especially appeal to a family with a penchant for hallucinogenic experiences.
3. Vanderbilt Home

While it's no longer inhabited by the Vanderbilts, the connection to Anderson Cooper of CNN fame makes it a noteworthy inclusion, particularly since the house has an eerie vibe. This is the home where Cooper (son of Gloria Vanderbilt) spent his childhood. I'll leave it to the pictures to tell the story.
2. Verner Panton’s Home

Verner Panton was one of the 20th century's most iconic designers, and his house reflects his eclectic and unconventional taste. He used his home as a testing ground for many of his designs—so as strange as some elements might seem, he actually lived with them before introducing them to the market.
1. Palais Bulles—Lunar Palace

Designed by Antti Lovag, the Palais Bulles was later owned and lived in by the renowned designer Pierre Cardin. Valued at 350 million Euros, the property now operates as a hotel. So, if you're looking to stay in a truly outlandish home, this is the place for you!
