Great job, readers, on completing the January money challenge! Take a moment to celebrate your success and get ready for February's. This month, let's save money by cutting out those old subscriptions and memberships we no longer use.
We're not asking you to cancel the subscriptions you love and use regularly (Netflix is not going anywhere). But if there's an inactive service draining your finances that you’ve forgotten about, it's time to let it go.
This month’s challenge: make a list of all your current subscriptions and memberships, and eliminate the ones that no longer benefit you. Here's a few examples to consider:
Gym memberships
Streaming services
Subscription boxes
Music streaming services
Start by listing all your subscriptions (tools like Trim can assist with this). Next, ask yourself how valuable each service is: does it save you time or money? Do you use it frequently? Can you find a free or cheaper alternative? If it’s not adding value, cancel it.
Are you on board? Let us know in the comments! We'll provide resources to support you throughout the month, and of course, we'll check in at the end of February to see how you did. Best of luck!
