Lipari Foods has initiated a voluntary recall for its Lipari Branded Ground Cumin Tubs after discovering possible Salmonella contamination in a specific batch. This product was distributed across 16 states. Salmonella poses severe risks, particularly to young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems, potentially leading to fatal infections. Healthier individuals may experience symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
Which states are included in the cumin recall?
The recalled cumin was distributed to retail stores in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Which specific cumin product is under recall?
The recalled product is packaged in a clear plastic container labeled “ground cumin” and “Distributed by Lipari Foods,” featuring a white label.
