Disney's 2013 animated masterpiece Frozen taught us one thing: the song 'Let It Go' is impossible to forget.
Idina Menzel's Broadway-style performance of this iconic track turned countless fans into aspiring ice queens, and its melody likely stayed in your mind for years (if it ever left).
The song also sparked countless covers, parodies, and remixes. As Frozen 2 prepares to hit theaters later this month, it's no wonder these vibrant versions are making a comeback online.
According to Nerdist reports, the Klingon rendition of 'Let It Go' recently surfaced on Reddit's Star Trek forum, thrilling both musically inclined Trekkies and fans of crossover events.
While some commenters noted that Klingons typically dislike cold weather and the concept of letting go, the general consensus was that the song was both skillfully performed and oddly captivating.
Titled 'yIbuSQo' in Klingon, the track was uploaded five years ago by SoundCloud artist Jen Usellis, also known as 'Klingon Pop Warrior.' The acoustic guitar's melodic tones contrast sharply with the harsh, guttural sounds of the Klingon language, adding a uniquely intense vibe to the song. Elsa's original performance was never meant to be soothing, after all.
If the name 'Klingon Pop Warrior' suggests that 'yIbuSQo' isn't Usellis's only Klingon cover, you're right—her SoundCloud channel also features Pat Benatar's 'Love Is a Battlefield,' Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance,' and Celine Dion's Oscar- and Grammy-winning hit 'My Heart Will Go On' from 1997's Titanic.
