October is behind us, marking the end of our cardio interval month. Now, we can collapse onto the floor, drenched in sweat and gasping for air, swearing we’ll never put ourselves through this again.
Whether you used cardio machines at the gym, completed HIIT sessions at home, or took the opportunity to master rowing, I hope this challenge brought you some benefit—even if it’s just the realization that interval training might not be your preferred workout style.
On the other hand, you might have discovered a love for intervals! Personally, I’d rather push through a few intense sprints than endure long periods of steady-state cardio, though it’s more of a mental battle for me. Sprints are tough, but they’re over quickly. Steady-state cardio is gentler on the body but can feel tedious. That said, nothing beats a peaceful jog along a picturesque trail on a perfect day. And if you can lose yourself in a great podcast or playlist, steady cardio might not be so unbearable after all.
What are your thoughts looking back on the month? Did you find the interval workouts thrilling or exhausting? And which method did you enjoy the most?
