
If you're watching the NFL Draft tonight, you'll likely see how each pick gets a personalized jersey almost immediately after they're chosen. Does the whole draft feel as rehearsed as pro wrestling? Do they make jerseys for every possible outcome and ship the extras to places like El Salvador?
It turns out, the process is just incredibly fast.
According to the New York Times, in recent years, draft picks have been handed team jerseys featuring their names:
"Once a team makes its first-round selection... workers from Stahls’, a company specializing in customizing sports apparel and hired by Nike, spring into action. Ahead of time, they’ve prepared nameplates for each of the 30 potential picks in colors matching the jerseys of the 32 teams, totaling 960 nameplates."
