Keisawada used the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and average-sized TVs as points of comparison.
These machines are going to be massive.
Considering trends in the gaming industry over recent years, we may see smaller and more refined versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future. Some gamers might use that as (another reason) to delay upgrading, but it will likely be some time before any smaller versions of these consoles are revealed (if at all), and it’s possible that the new models could even be larger—the PS4 Pro was bulkier than the original PS4, after all.
If you're used to managing bulky desktop gaming PCs, neither the PS5 nor the Xbox Series X should be a concern. However, if you're accustomed to the more compact designs of the previous generation's consoles, it’s time to grab a measuring tape. To help with your new setup, here are the precise dimensions for each new console, starting with the PS5.
PS5 and PS5 Digital Console Sizes

PS5: 390mm x 104mm x 260mm (approximately 15.4 inches x 4 inches x 10.2 inches), weighing 9.92 lbs (4.5kg)
PS5 Digital: 390mm x 92mm x 260mm (approximately 15.4 inches x 3.6 inches x 10.2 inches), weighing 8.59 lbs (3.9kg)
The measurements above don't account for the full height of the PS5’s unique “fin” extensions, so you might need up to 16 inches or more of clearance for this console. According to Keisawada's designs, when standing upright, the PS5 could almost reach the height of a 30-inch TV. Be sure to plan for that extra space.
Dimensions of the Xbox Series X and Series S

Xbox Series X: 301mm x 151mm x 151mm (approximately 11.85 inches x 5.94 inches x 5.94 inches), weighing 8.4 lbs (3.81kg)
Xbox Series S: 275mm x 151mm x 6mm (approximately 10.82 inches x 5.94 inches x 2.5 inches), weighing 6.4 lbs (2.9kg)
While the Xbox Series X and Series S are easier to accommodate than the massive PS5, the Series X will still take up a significant amount of space. The Series S should fit neatly where your Xbox One or Xbox One X used to sit, but the Series X will require much more room.
