Great news for anyone with a teen at home looking for something to do this summer: Planet Fitness is launching a Summer Challenge sweepstakes that grants teens between 15 and 18 years old free gym access for the entire season.
Teens can enjoy free workouts from May 15 to September 1, but they'll be limited to the Planet Fitness location where they register. Signing up requires a visit to a nearby Planet Fitness with a parent or guardian (18-year-olds can register independently). According to a Planet Fitness info sheet, teens will have unlimited access to the gym all summer long with no restrictions on how often they can come in.
While this might seem like an overwhelming influx of young gym-goers for regular Planet Fitness members, the gym already welcomes teens as young as 13, and summer tends to be a quieter period for many gyms. For parents, the real benefit is some extra quiet time and the chance to help their teens build healthier habits.
Although several news outlets have reported on the challenge, Planet Fitness has yet to officially announce or launch the program. They’ve stated on Instagram that full details will be released by mid-May.
