Use a stiff-bristled brush (a method to gently lift dried stains and spots) or blot away excess powder without spreading the stain. For deeper cleaning, flush the area with a dry-cleaning solvent like Afta Cleaning Fluid. Apply a dry spotter to the stain, covering it with an absorbent pad soaked in the dry spotter. Check the stain every 5 minutes, pressing firmly before changing the pad. Continue alternating between soaking and pressing until the stain is no longer lifting. Finish by flushing with a dry-cleaning solvent and letting it dry. If any stain remains, rinse with water and apply a wet spotter with a few drops of ammonia (note: ammonia should not be used on silk or wool). Keep the area moist, change pads as needed, and flush well with water. Repeat if necessary, then let dry.

Gently brush or blot any excess, taking care not to spread the stain. Use a dry-cleaning solvent such as Afta Cleaning Fluid to flush the area. Apply a dry spotter and cover with a cloth dampened in the same spotter. Check the stain frequently, gently tamping (applying light brush strokes to durable fabrics) before changing the cloth. Alternate between soaking and tamping until the stain is no longer lifting. Flush with dry-cleaning solvent and let dry. If necessary, repeat the process using a wet spotter and ammonia. After the stain disappears, be sure to rinse with water to remove ammonia traces, then launder as usual.

Dry Spotter:
To create a dry spotter, mix 1 part coconut oil (available at pharmacies and health food stores) with 8 parts liquid dry-cleaning solvent. This solution can be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent the solvent from evaporating. Mineral oil can be used as an alternative to coconut oil, although it is slightly less effective.
Caution: Dry-cleaning solvents are hazardous and may be flammable.
Wet spotter:
For a wet spotter, combine 1 part glycerine, 1 part white dish soap, and 8 parts water. Shake well before use and store it in a plastic squeeze bottle.
