While we hope you won’t ever need to search for a COVID-19 testing center (stay safe and quarantined!), if you do need one and are using your iPhone or iPad, you can quickly find the nearest testing location with Apple Maps.
Apple has not yet introduced a specific category for “COVID-19 testing centers” in the revised list of priority categories in its Search function. If you tap the search bar within Apple Maps, you’ll currently see something like this:

To find a testing center, you’ll need to search directly for one. It’s simple—just type in “coronavirus” or “COVID-19” and Apple Maps will show you a map of nearby testing locations.

By tapping on any result, you’ll see the testing site’s hours, but Apple may also inform you that additional steps are required to get tested. This could include needing a doctor’s referral, making an appointment, or other steps. While you’ll know the location, I highly recommend checking the site’s website or calling them to confirm the testing requirements before heading out.
Generally, you should contact your primary healthcare provider first to arrange for a symptom check, likely through a telehealth consultation. From there, you’ll receive further instructions if testing is necessary. If you don’t have a primary provider, your next step is to contact your local or state health department to explore your options. If you suspect that your symptoms (and recent interactions) might be related to coronavirus, it’s crucial to self-isolate during this time, just in case you’re infected.
