How the offer works
This offer is simple to claim, especially if you’re setting up a new Amazon account (nothing stopping you, just use a different email) or haven’t previously purchased a gift card from Amazon. To claim the $15, visit Amazon’s gift card page by June 28 (the offer ends then), choose a card worth at least $50, and enter the promo code GIFTCARD2021 during checkout. You’ll know it worked if you see a confirmation message at the top of the page.
Congrats! Your purchase makes you eligible for an Amazon.com credit. A one-time $15 promotional credit will be automatically credited to your account and emailed to you within three (3) days after the item ships.
Since the credit is separate from the gift card itself, you could pocket that $15 and still send the gift card to someone else. Alternatively, you can load the gift card into your own account and keep it all for yourself.
CNET reports that the promo code can be a little tricky, and some users have had trouble triggering the discount, even if they’ve never ordered a gift card before. It’s worth trying, though—you’ll see immediately if the credit is applied before completing your purchase. Keep in mind, if you choose a physical gift card, you’ll have to pay extra for shipping and gift-wrapping fees.
