I meet up with home tech expert John Quain again at Homehackers HQ to explore the smart sound systems people are using today. Then, there's the $150 Amazon Echo Plus, perfect for casual listeners who want Alexa functionality and decent sound quality. Finally, the Sonos PLAY:1 delivers excellent sound and allows you to sync multiple speakers in a room for $200 each, though it's currently available for $150.
After covering the basics of each speaker, JQ demonstrates how to quickly connect your phone to the Bose speaker via Bluetooth, set up the Amazon Echo Plus and install music skills in the Alexa app, and get a Sonos system up and running right out of the box.
