As someone who enjoys challenging Wordle spin-offs such as Antiwordle and Squardle
Hurdle challenges players to complete five Wordle-inspired puzzles daily. While the number of words is comparable to Squardle, each puzzle is tackled individually using standard Wordle tactics. Think of each puzzle as a hurdle you must overcome to achieve daily victory.
Unlike the countless “infinite Wordle” versions available online, Hurdle connects its five puzzles. The answer to the first puzzle becomes the initial guess for the second, and this pattern continues through all five puzzles, creating a unique and interconnected challenge.
The final hurdle presents the toughest challenge. All four previous answers are pre-filled as guesses, leaving just two attempts to solve the puzzle. However, even if you fail the fifth round, the satisfaction of conquering the earlier hurdles remains.
While I can't confirm if the fifth hurdle is always solvable, I believe it is. The preceding words provide ample hints, and with two chances to guess, success is likely. I’ve mostly succeeded, though I’ve failed at least once. Unfortunately, browser cookie issues prevent me from maintaining a streak or tracking stats.
Despite the intensity of the final puzzle, Hurdle’s format feels more relaxed. Unlike regular Wordle, where I aim to solve it in three guesses and feel let down with four, Hurdle encourages experimentation. With 23 guesses across all puzzles, I’m more willing to test double letters or uncommon words. If you’re seeking a fresh Wordle experience that’s engaging but not overwhelming, Hurdle is worth a try.
